<p>The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for a Wastewater Treatment Specialist II. This full-time position reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent and will perform technical, skilled, and manual work in controlling, monitoring, calibrating, and routinely maintaining all operational equipment at the Fond du Lac Regional Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Facility under the standards set by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wastewater Superintendent (to maintain operational performance to ensure wastewater is properly treated to meet the limitations of the plant's discharge permit and perform quality lab analysis to ensure accurate discharge nutrient levels are reported to the WI DNR as well as engage with the public to educate them on the steps taken to fully treat wastewater.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Duties will include: SCADA, Wastewater Treatment, Solids Processing, Side Stream Treatment, Biogas Cleaning and Reuse, Data Analysis and Process Monitoring, Lab Analysis, Wastewater/Industrial/OSG sampling, Process maintenance, Calibration and instrumentation, Lead Treatment Specialist in planned projects, tours and public outreach, and third party manufacture communication.</p> <p>MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Considerable knowledge of mechanical equipment used in a wastewater treatment plant; Considerable knowledge of chemical and biological processes taking place in a wastewater treatment plan; Considerable ability to operate SCADA computer and related software and interpret operating feedback data and to regulate equipment controls to produce the required results; Considerable ability to identify equipment malfunctions and to report and/or correct such malfunctions; Considerable knowledge of work hazards and safe work practices and the ability to consistently apply that knowledge in the performance of the work; Ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of plant related equipment and vehicles; Considerable ability to read, understand, and apply work related equipment, O&M, and laboratory manuals; Ability to efficiently clean and maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with established standards and schedules; Excellent communication skills to engage with the public, troubleshoot equipment with manufactures, and report findings. Note: years of wastewater related education are to be accounted for in years of experience.</p> <p>The Treatment Specialists are the personnel that have the closest contact with all operational functions. They must have considerable knowledge of each treatment process and have the ability and experience to effectively control these processes to meet plant and state standards.
