<p>Overview</p> <p>Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs company-wide, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. Administer workers compensation benefits.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Create, update and maintain plant safety programs in accordance with OSHA regulations. </li><li>Maintain and apply knowledge of current OSHA regulations and relevant state workers compensation laws. </li><li>Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance. </li><li>Ensure accurate overall recordkeeping of safety and workers compensation for legal and inspection purposes. </li><li>Administer workers compensation claims from opening to closure. </li><li>Recommend safety enhancements that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards. </li><li>Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures. </li><li>Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing. </li><li>Administer company safety incentive program. </li><li>Create annual safety training program and track progress to ensure all plants are OSHA compliant. </li><li>Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>College degree or equivalent experience required. OSHA training/certification preferred. </li><li>Three to five years previous work-related experience. </li><li>Minimal overnight travel required. </li><li>Computer skills required; Outlook email, Word, Excel. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. </li><li>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. </li></ul>
