<p>Title: HR Manager</p> <p>Reports to: HR Consultant/Interim HR Director</p> <p>Onsite position in Concord Main Office (not remote)</p> <p>Salary range: $105,000-125,000</p> <p>Now Hiring: HR Manager | Non-Profit Organization | Multiple Locations</p> <p>SHELTER, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to lead our human resources function. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of HR, from recruitment and employee relations to training and development. You will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, enhancing HR operations, ensuring compliance, and spearheading initiatives that elevate employee experience and organizational culture.</p> <p>Not only will you have the chance to shape the future of our organization, but you will also play a key role in creating a mission-driven workplace where employee experience and culture are at the forefront. Your expertise in HR best practices and your commitment to building trusted relationships at all levels of the agency will make you a valuable asset to our team.</p> <p>ORGANIZATION: Created in 1986, SHELTER, Inc. is a leading non-profit that provides housing and homeless services in multiple Bay Area counties. We have approximately 130 employees, most of whom report to a worksite.</p> <p>MISSION: To prevent and end homelessness among low-income, homeless, and disadvantaged families and individuals by providing housing services, support and resources that lead to self-sufficiency.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Lead HR across the full employee lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to compliance, leaves of absence, retention, engagement, and offboarding. </li><li>Maintain and ensure adherence to workplace policies and procedures. </li><li>Manage multi-state compliance, employment law, and people analytics. </li><li>Develop and implement compensation strategy, benefits programs, and performance management systems. </li><li>Oversee HR team and act as a strategic advisor to leadership. </li><li>Spearhead HR initiatives and projects focus on the improvement of the HR function and employee experience. </li><li>Develop, implement and maintain a consistent HR records keeping system. </li></ul> <p>What You Bring:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of HR experience (2+ at the management level), preferably in a small-to-mid-size organization in the non-profit sector. </li><li>Deep knowledge of employment law across multiple states, particularly in California. </li><li>A track record of building inclusive teams and enhancing employee engagement. </li><li>Experience scaling HR in complex, multi-entity environments. </li><li>Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building, communication, and data-informed decision-making skills. </li><li>SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred. </li><li>Ability to travel to other work locations from time to time. </li></ul> <p>How Success Will Be Measured:</p> <ul> <li>Positive employee engagement survey results </li><li>Proactiveness, follow-through, and accountability </li><li>Successful implementation of HR/people initiatives and projects </li><li>Improved time to fill/hire, improved retention, reduced turnover, grievance resolution time, HR-led training completion rates, employee net promoter scores, and other metrics </li><li>Compliance across multiple states </li><li>Leadership and stakeholder satisfaction with HR partnership and communication </li></ul> <p>We value diversity</p> <p>At SHELTER, Inc., we believe diverse perspectives drive innovation and lead to better outcomes for the communities we serve.
