Work under the supervision of a certified teacher(s)</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education / Certifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate</p> </li><li> <p>PAC Test (No Chid Left Behind) / 48 College Hours</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual Test (if applicable)</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge / Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of general office equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Light clerical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work well with school-aged children</p> </li><li> <p>Basic computer skills, i.e. Excel, Word Processing, Publisher</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Some experience working with school-aged children </li></ul> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy </li><li>Assist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials </li><li>Work with individual students or small groups to complete instructional exercises by the teacher(s) </li><li>Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments </li><li>Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom </li><li>Keep the teacher(s) informed of any special needs or problems of individuals students </li><li>Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom </li><li>Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment </li><li>Assist the teacher(s) in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports </li><li>Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed </li><li>Perform other duties as may be assigned </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Mental Demands:</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions</p> <p>Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:</p> <p>Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking, and bending</p>
