<p>Job Title: Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Echocardiography Specialist will perform high-quality echocardiograms on pediatric and adult congenital patients following IAC-approved protocols. This role is crucial in ensuring patient and family comfort while contributing to a supportive care environment. The position also involves teaching echocardiography techniques and interpretation to Pediatric Cardiology Fellows, students, and families, fostering growth and leadership skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform all aspects of echocardiography exams with consistent quality. </li><li>Operate sonography equipment with technical proficiency. </li><li>Engage in teaching and mentoring activities with Pediatric Cardiology Fellows, students, and families. </li><li>Participate in lab meetings, quality assurance initiatives, clinical research, and educational sessions for Sonographers and Fellows. </li><li>Complete reports with physician input and maintain compliance with departmental standards. </li><li>Follow protocols for equipment cleaning and PHI security. </li><li>Demonstrate leadership behaviors and support team initiatives. </li><li>Participate in research and quality improvement projects. </li><li>Complete administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in cardiac, cardiovascular, and pediatric echocardiograms. </li><li>Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE/PE) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). </li><li>Registered Pediatric Sonographer (RDCS-PE) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) within two years of hire. </li><li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of cardiac pathology. </li><li>Proficiency in pediatric echo studies and use of various echo equipment. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program. </li><li>Minimum 5 years of pediatric echocardiography experience. </li><li>Passion for working with pediatric patients and families. </li><li>Basic computer skills. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position operates from 7:30 AM to 5 PM with rotating schedules and staggered starts, including on-call and local travel.
