<p>Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Summer Associate - Intellectual Property (IP) Law.</p> <p>The hourly rate for this position is $38 per hour, equivalent to $3,040 biweekly or $79,040 annually. per hour.</p> <p>Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Summer Associate that is interested in learning and contributing to a fast-action, in-house IP team. The work will focus on patents, trademarks, and copyright matters. This position is ideal for a second-year law student with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering and a keen interest in IP and patent law. The Summer Associate will work closely with our legal and engineering teams to support various IP-related projects.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct legal research on intellectual property issues, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. </li><li>Support patent litigation and enforcement activities. </li><li>Assist in drafting and reviewing IP documents, such as agreements, contracts, patent applications, trademark registrations, and licensing agreements. Could also include digital related agreements and clauses. </li><li>Participate in IP strategy meetings and provide input on patent portfolio management. </li><li>Participate in strategic IP projects to improve the department and deliver solutions to business needs. </li><li>Stay updated on recent developments in intellectual property law and related fields. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required (Basic) Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in an ABA accredited law school (J.D. candidate). </li><li>Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. </li><li>No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood OH will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. </li><li>Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. </li></ul> <p>Position Criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. </li><li>Strong interest in Intellectual Property and Patent Law. </li><li>Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>10% travel required. </li></ul> <p>We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
