<p>Department: WCAS Anthropology</p> <p>Salary/Grade: NEX/10</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Anthropology Department and the Gender & Sexuality Studies Program seek a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Assistant 2 to support their shared mission and daily operations. This role provides essential administrative, programmatic, and logistical support, including coordinating events, managing communications, maintaining records, assisting with budgeting and scheduling, and serving as a key point of contact for students, faculty, and external partners.</p> <p>This is a combined full-time position (40 hours per week), with responsibilities evenly split between Anthropology (20 hours) and the Gender & Sexuality Studies Program (20 hours). This position works in Anthropology on-site five half days from 1:00-5:00 (with some flexibility for occasional SPAN needs,) and in SPAN five half days from 8:30-12:30. Two SPAN shifts per week must be worked on-site, exact in-person days will be determined with SPAN leadership. The target hiring range for this position will be between $41,238 - $52,200 per year, which is $19.75 - $25 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.</p> <p>Specific Responsibilities:</p> <p>Anthropology:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates all undergraduate and graduate courses under the Anthropology umbrella. This involves class scheduling, room assignments, course descriptions, catalog and website upkeep. liaising as needed with the Weinberg Office of Undergraduate Studies, the Office of the Registrar and the School of Professional Studies. </li><li>The position assists our Director of Undergraduate studies in guiding undergraduate students through our program and works with the Associate Chair on course matters. The position also serves as the department receptionist and may be called upon to assist with department events and publicity. </li></ul> <p>The Sexualities Project at Northwestern:</p> <ul> <li>Manages spending and budgeting for SPAN using NUFinacials and Cognos. Plans and executes events throughout the year, including event promotion via email and newsletter. Coordinates with other units we needed for co-sponsorships and joint events. Supervises work-study students as they assist with administrative and marketing tasks. Serves as a resource for award winners and funding recipients to process payments and answer questions. </li></ul> <p>Miscellaneous</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or equivalent required. 4 years of administrative support or other relevant experience required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)</p> <ul> <li>Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs is required. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>At Northwestern, we are proud to provide meaningful and competitive benefits.
