Therefore, we seek applicants who can demonstrate their understanding of justice and who can inspire our increasingly diverse student population.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare patients for exams and assist NPs with exams and procedures </li><li>Organize and prepare exam rooms and work areas </li><li>Assist with patient scheduling </li><li>Direct patients to exam rooms and obtain and record vital signs and visual acuity if indicated </li><li>Perform venipunctures and finger sticks </li><li>Collect and label specimens to be sent to local lab for processing </li><li>Assist with basic laboratory procedures, including rapid strep tests, mono tests, urine dipstick tests, urine pregnancy tests, urine drug screens, rapid influenza tests, rapid COVID tests, rapid HIV tests, and running controls on test kits </li><li>Administer vaccines and TB tests as directed by NP </li><li>Administer visual acuity tests, dressing changes, application of splints and ace wrap </li><li>Instruct patient on crutch use </li><li>Assist with clerical work as needed, including scanning lab results to the electronic record and secure messaging patients with normal results. </li><li>Assist NPs with required form review and vaccine record compliance </li><li>Assist with TB test and flu vaccine clinics, campus health fairs, and wellness displays </li><li>Assist Health Center Director with managing inventory and ordering clinic supplies </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>This position requires formal training indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification/registration as a Medical Assistant through the AAMA or AMT preferred, but will accept NHA; current CPR certification. Proficiency with phlebotomy skills a plus but willing to train the right candidate. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Medical Assistant is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Technology Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to learn how to utilize Medicat, an electronic health record to document patient care </li><li>Ability to utilize electronic health records and the Wisconsin Immunization Registry </li></ul> <p>Human Relations Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent customer service skills essential.
