<p>Title: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - CLINICAL</p> <p>Employee Type: Faculty</p> <p>Department: LSUNO Oral Surgery</p> <p>Campus Location: ORAL SURGERY BATON ROUGE CLINI</p> <p>Job Summary/Basic Functions</p> <p>Louisiana State University Health Science Center is seeking applicants for faculty positions in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department. This is a full-time position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, based in Baton Rouge. The OMS department's primary responsibilities are providing didactic instruction and clinical supervision for dental students, residents, non-categorical interns, externs, and medical students at the LSU School of Dentistry and affiliated hospital clinics and ORs, as well as meeting the OMS treatment needs of the community. The department has a long history of recruiting quality students/residents and graduating top-rated clinicians. Candidates will also have the option to participate in the Faculty Practice and provide call coverage at our affiliated hospitals and the LSU School of Dentistry.</p> <p>The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, leadership, patient care, service, and scholarship. Proficiency in facial trauma surgery is critical. A record of scholarly activity is desirable, and the pursuit of scholarly activity is expected. Numerous opportunities for collaboration exist within the school of dentistry and the LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.</p> <p>This faculty role will provide comprehensive OMS care-including dentoalveolar procedures, implants, orthognathic surgery, trauma management, and pathology treatment-while supporting resident education, multidisciplinary collaboration, and high-volume clinical operations in an academic-focused environment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education: DDS/DMD</p> <p>Required Field of Study: Completion of advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at a CODA accredited program.</p> <p>Certifications or Licenses Required: Must be eligible for full licensure to practice Dentistry in the State of Louisiana and Certified, or Board Eligible by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. BLS; ACLS; PALS</p> <p>Type of experience required to perform the job: Hospital-based, OMS clinic, or academic practice; hands-on experience in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, orthognathic corrections, facial trauma reconstruction, and maxillofacial pathology.
