<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>Minimum special hiring rate:</p> <p>$36,533</p> <p>This position coordinates on a daily basis with the Building Grounds Manager to completemaintenance work orders and is assigned to ongoing projects. Oversees an inmate crew toaccomplish some tasks, takes care of boilers, HVAC equipment, dining hall and kitchen equipment and provides necessary repairs if possible. Works all areas of maintenance to include, taking care of keeping the grounds mowed and trimmed, repairing water lines, cutting trees, roofing buildings, keeping the water plant equipment running, motors, etc. Needs to consider budgetary issues when repairing systems. Keeping the perimeter fence secure, perimeter lights working and generator operating efficiently. Performs other duties as needed.This position requires one 12 hour shift per week in security.</p> <ul> <li> <p>In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB 3088)</p> </li><li> <p>Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.</p> </li><li> <p>If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Training: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or GED or four year apprenticeship program or two year post secondary technical school.</p> <p>Substitution: Experience in air-conditioning, heating or refrigeration may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in heating, cooling, ventilation or the mechanical or building trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plasterer, painter, welder, machinist, mechanic or masonry work.</p> <p>Special Requirement: Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.</p> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Minimum special hiring rate:</p> <p>$36,533</p>
