<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Battelle is seeking a skilled and security-focused Microsoft 365 Administrator to join our Corporate Information Technology team. This role is responsible for the administration, optimization, and security of our Microsoft 365 environment within a hybrid and multi-tenant enterprise infrastructure.</p> <p>The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical expertise with a proactive, service-oriented mindset. This individual will manage Microsoft 365 services, support secure identity and access management, partner closely with Security teams, and serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex collaboration and messaging issues.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Microsoft 365 Administration & Operations</p> <ul> <li>Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services including: </li></ul> <p>o Exchange Online</p> <p>o SharePoint Online</p> <p>o OneDrive for Business</p> <p>o Microsoft Teams</p> <p>o Microsoft Entra ID</p> <p>o Purview</p> <p>o CoPilot Studio</p> <p>o Power Platform</p> <ul> <li>Manage hybrid identity and mail flow integrations (Azure AD Connect, hybrid Exchange). </li><li>Oversee licensing, mailbox management, distribution groups, dynamic groups, and shared resources. </li><li>Monitor tenant health, service health, and usage reporting to ensure availability and performance. </li><li>Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex messaging, collaboration, authentication, and synchronization issues. </li></ul> <p>Identity, Security & Compliance</p> <p>Manage and maintain:</p> <ul> <li>Conditional Access policies </li><li>Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies </li><li>Identity Protection and access governance </li><li>Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) </li></ul> <p>Partner with Security Governance and SOC teams to remediate vulnerabilities and support enterprise application reviews.</p> <p>Support Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities including:</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Purview </li><li>Data Loss Prevention (DLP) </li><li>eDiscovery </li><li>Retention and sensitivity labeling </li><li>Microsoft Defender for Office 365 </li></ul> <p>Ensure configurations align with regulatory, contractual, and enterprise security requirements.</p> <p>Automation & Continuous Improvement</p> <p>Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, reporting, and bulk administration.</p> <p>Leverage Microsoft Graph and provided APIs.</p> <p>Identify and implement process improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and security.</p> <p>Evaluate and communicate new Microsoft features and roadmap items for enterprise applicability.</p> <p>Collaboration & Governance</p> <p>Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Service Desk, Desktop Management, and Security teams to improve reliability and end-user experience.</p> <p>Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.</p> <p>Contribute to governance models for Teams, SharePoint, and collaboration services.</p> <p>Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and change records.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Excellent written documentation and communication skills.</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).</p> <p>5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in a medium-to-large enterprise environment.</p> <p>Strong expertise in:</p> <ul> <li>Exchange Online </li><li>Microsoft Teams </li><li>SharePoint Online </li><li>OneDrive </li><li>Microsoft Entra ID </li></ul> <p>Experience managing hybrid identity and directory synchronization (Azure AD Connect).</p> <p>Strong understanding of:</p> <ul> <li>Conditional Access </li><li>MFA </li><li>Identity governance </li><li>SMTP mail flow </li><li>SPF, DKIM, and DMARC </li></ul> <p>Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.</p> <p>Experience troubleshooting authentication, SSO, and synchronization issues.</p> <p>Must be a US Citizen.</p> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <p>A proactive engineer who anticipates issues and strengthens security posture.</p> <p>A collaborator who works effectively across IT and security teams.</p> <p>A technically curious professional who stays current with Microsoft innovation.</p> <p>A service-minded professional who improves the employee experience while protecting the enterprise.</p> <p>Additional lnformation:</p> <ul> <li>Is this role onsite or remote?
