Together, we can build great things.</p> <p>The Solar CDL Driver is part of the team that is responsible for the safe and successful transportation of equipment and materials for McCarthy's Renewable Energy job sites. The Solar CDL Driver has a focus on the safety of themselves and others on the road by abiding to traffic laws and job site safety protocols to ensure safe unloading and delivery to their destination.</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Operate/maneuver a combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle(s) being towed is 10,001 pounds or more </li><li>Daily checks to ensure equipment functions properly and safely </li><li>Transport material in a safe manner in a local area to support construction of our utility scale solar project </li><li>Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions throughout jobsite safely </li><li>Operate effectively on rough terrain/unpaved surfaces </li><li>Clean, maintain and conduct basic equipment repairs. </li><li>Recognize hazards and danger zones </li><li>Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use. </li><li>Coordinate with crew members in response to hand and/or audio signals. </li><li>Understand how to secure the load with the proper type of binders for the applicable load </li><li>Plan the route which the vehicle would need to take </li><li>Understand and follow hand signals that may be given for a vehicle backing into tight areas </li><li>All other duties assigned by site leadership </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Must have up to date CDL A Certification </li><li>Must have a current medical card </li><li>Maintain N and/or P Endorsements as required per jobsite functions </li><li>Thorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in large construction sites </li><li>Understand logistics and traffic control plans. </li><li>Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team. </li><li>Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling of material weighing 50 lbs. </li><li>Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage </li><li>Ability to squat, crawl and work in awkward positions and confined spaces. </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. </li><li>Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth and color perception. </li><li>Self-motivated. </li><li>Ability to work well with others in a team environment. </li><li>Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. </li><li>Age 21+ </li><li>Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization </li></ul> <p>McCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.</p>
