We invite all individuals to consider joining our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. Join our Paramedicine Program, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). MassBay Community College is looking for a dedicated full-time evening instructor to help prepare future Emergency Medical Services professionals. This position involves teaching in classrooms, skills labs, and simulation lab settings across both EMT and Paramedicine courses, with possible opportunities for online or hybrid instruction. The ideal candidate will be skilled in using digital learning tools, enjoy team collaboration, and share a strong commitment to supporting and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds within the Emergency Medical Services program.</p> <p>Faculty members are expected to develop educational and assessment materials that align with the program's philosophy and framework, MassBay Community College standards, and, where relevant, accreditation, licensure, and specialty criteria as outlined by the MA Office of Emergency Medical Services and CoAEMSP. Additionally, faculty must maintain an active OEMS or NREMT license/certification and demonstrate ongoing expertise in emergency medical services.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Teaching and Curriculum Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Faculty are required to maintain a full-time workload, which includes teaching across the EMT and Paramedicine Programs. Instructional duties encompass classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation-based courses, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all program components;</p> </li><li> <p>In addition to teaching, faculty members prepare syllabi and develop curricula for lectures, laboratory sessions, and simulation settings. These materials are designed to address course and program student learning outcomes as well as Graduation Competencies, whenever applicable;</p> </li></ul> <p>Instructional Methods</p> <ul> <li>Effective teaching is expected in traditional, hybrid, and online learning environments. Faculty members employ a range of instructional strategies to address the diverse needs of students enrolled in the program; </li></ul> <p>Student Support and Advising</p> <ul> <li>Faculty serve as academic advisors to students, providing guidance throughout their educational journey. Office hours are maintained to support student needs and foster academic success; </li></ul> <p>Governance and Committee Participation</p> <ul> <li>Participation in College, Division, and Program governance is required. This includes attending meetings of the Division, Department, Advisory Committee, and other relevant committees, as well as contributing to the effective operation and advancement of the program; </li></ul> <p>Assessment and Program Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Faculty members actively participate in assessing courses and program learning outcomes, ensuring that educational objectives are met and continually refined for improvement; </li></ul> <p>Safety and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining a safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions is paramount. Faculty ensure that all safety protocols are followed during hands-on instructional activities; </li></ul> <p>Technology Utilization</p> <ul> <li>Faculty effectively utilize technology to communicate with students and colleagues, as well as to enhance classroom learning where appropriate; </li></ul> <p>Professional Development</p> <ul> <li>Engagement in professional development activities is expected to maintain excellence and expertise in classroom, clinical, and simulation teaching; </li></ul> <p>Documentation and Accreditation</p> <ul> <li>Faculty members are responsible for maintaining the necessary paperwork and documentation as required by the program and accreditation agencies; </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties and Collaboration</p> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.</p> <p>All employees of MassBay are expected to work collegially and collaboratively within a community that values and celebrates the variety of student experience.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification without restriction/in good standing;</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last ten years, as a Paramedic functioning on an ambulance providing EMS care;</p> </li><li> <p>Any associate degree (from an accredited college or university) or comparable years of experience and a commitment to complete a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university within 2 years of hire;</p> </li><li> <p>Current AHA, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification;</p> </li><li> <p>If the applicant only has their NREMT Paramedic, they must be able to obtain their Massachusetts Paramedic within 30 days of hire;</p> </li><li> <p>Within one semester of employment, individuals who do not possess the required qualifications must obtain all necessary instructor credentials relevant to the position.
