<p>SUNY Adirondack is a teaching- and learning-centered community college that fosters a diverse and equitable learning environment for students of all ages, backgrounds, goals, and learning styles. A member of the State University of New York, the College enrolls approximately 3,000 students in more than 30 unique academic programs that prepare students for both work and transfer to four-year institutions. The College is located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, one hour north of Albany and thirty minutes from Saratoga Springs. A bachelor's degree is attainable on campus through SUNY Plattsburgh's branch campus. SUNY Adirondack's students include a diversity of backgrounds, ages, interests and origins. An on-campus Residence Hall allows for housing of 400 students, drawing students from out of state and internationally.</p> <p>From interactive classroom instruction to one-on-one guidance outside of class, our faculty and staff are committed to both personal and public transformation through education, with an emphasis on critical and creative thinking. </p> <p>We strongly encourage applications from minorities and other underrepresented groups. A demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population and to the values of inclusion, engagement, and equity is imperative</p> <p>Adjuncts are assigned a maximum of 9 credit hours and are responsible for all aspects of courses assigned. Class days vary and there are opportunities to teach both day and evening, 8:00am and 8:00pm. </p> <p>Currently we seek adjunct instructors to teach Chem 103, Principles of Chemistry and Chem 105, Environmental Science.Demonstrated commitment to a student-centered classroom environment which values learning, excellence, fairness, freedom of inquiry, integrity, and the importance of communication skills is required. Applicants must also have experience incorporating various learning styles into their instruction.
