<p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Position Type: </li></ul> <p>Non-Certified: Support Aides/Paraeducator (Elementary)</p> <ul> <li>Date Posted: </li></ul> <p>6/3/2026</p> <ul> <li>Location: </li></ul> <p>Mountain View School</p> <ul> <li>Date Available: </li></ul> <p>As soon as possible</p> <ul> <li>Closing Date: </li></ul> <p>Open until filled</p> <ul> <li>POSITION TITLE: 1:1 Paraeducator </li></ul> <p>DEPARTMENT: MOUTAIN VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL</p> <p>REPORTS TO: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER</p> <p>SUMMARY: Assist in small group and individual pupil instruction.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher. </li><li>Assist teacher in maintaining discipline. </li><li>Assist teacher with instructional activities. </li><li>Escort students from room to room. </li><li>Toileting students is required. </li><li>Involves work with both special education and regular students. </li><li>Assist teaching staff in the implementation of IEP. </li><li>Supervise students while they are at recess and lunch. </li><li>Assist students with classroom assignments. </li><li>Copy materials for instructional purposes. </li><li>Assist teacher in filing material and preparing all necessary paperwork. </li><li>Alert teachers to problems that may be observed. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND/OR ABILITY REQUIRED. REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>High School Diploma or General Education Degree. Two years of college credit OR hold an associate's (or higher) degree; OR successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of these topics (Parapro Assessment).</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</p> <p>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to push items of fifty (50) pounds, such as pushing children on a bike or wheelchair or moving/rearranging furniture. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. When doing heavier lifting, the employee should do so with assistance.
