<p>Johnston County Public Schools</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Title: Painter 3</p> <p>Location: Facility Services</p> <p>Pay Grade: 63</p> <p>Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred</p> <p>5+ years experience preparation and painting</p> <p>1+ years experience patching and drywall finishing.</p> <p>must possess a valid driver's license</p> <p>Reports to: Paint Foreman</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Uses the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing duties </li><li>Prioritizes the safety of themselves and others around their work area. </li><li>Understands the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of products being applied and how product(s) may impact themselves and others </li><li>Applies paint to interior and exterior of buildings, furniture and other structures by brush, roller or spray equipment. Applies waterproofing materials to exterior of buildings </li><li>Ability to erect and remove portable mechanical scaffolding </li><li>Prepares and cleans surfaces by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, sanding machines, dusters and paint removers </li><li>Maintains a clean work area and leaves a quality finished product </li><li>Properly cleans painting equipment and tools to mitigate the need for replacement </li><li>Ability to routinely climb and work from ladders safely (3 points of contact) </li><li>Work from elevated platforms: E.g. scissor lifts, atrium lift heights up to but not limited to 60' (Training and safety harnesses will be provided) </li><li>Ability to work around students and staff </li><li>Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continued quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization's core values of caring; respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversity </li><li>Demonstrates time management skills and prioritizes work properly </li><li>Proficient in at least two of the following: plastering, spray painting, drywall finishing </li><li>Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform medium/ heavy lifting exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally </li><li>Must be able to climb ladders and work in outdoor environments, heat/cold. </li></ul> <p>Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license.</p>
