<p>Counseling Services seeks an Associate Director to play a vital leadership role in promoting the emotional well-being and academic success of students across our health science-focused community. This position supports the daily operations of a small and highly collaborative counseling center, provides clinical and supervisory expertise, and serves as a key administrative leader in the absence of the Director. The Associate Director helps uphold the University's commitment to fostering a caring, inclusive, and student-centered environment.</p> <p>Clinical Services (45%)</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a clinical caseload, offering individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, and referrals for MCPHS students. </li><li>Participate in urgent care coverage and contribute to campus-wide crisis response protocols as needed, including some after-hours on-call coverage, in collaboration with our third party on-call service. </li><li>Consult with faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding student concerns while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional standards. </li><li>Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation consistent with center policies and legal guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Administrative & Leadership (25%)</p> <ul> <li>Serve as acting administrator when the Director is unavailable, supporting decision-making related to staffing, scheduling, student care, and center operations. </li><li>Assist in strategic planning, policy development, and the implementation and assessment of Counseling Services initiatives aligned with the mission of MCPHS. </li><li>Contribute to quality assurance efforts, data tracking, and adherence to ethical, legal, and University standards. </li><li>Participate in the recruitment, hiring, training, and onboarding of clinical staff and interns. </li><li>Maintains knowledge related to Title IX regulations and response protocols. </li><li>Help cultivate a warm, collaborative, and supportive office culture that reflects the values of Student Affairs and the wider MCPHS community. </li></ul> <p>Internship Program Oversight (25%)</p> <ul> <li>Provide oversight and coordination of the Counseling Services internship/practicum program, serving as a primary point of contact for academic partners. </li><li>Develop and maintain the program curriculum, training structure, and supervision standards including co-facilitation of Colleges of the Fenway intern seminar. </li><li>Provide weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision and conduct formal intern evaluations. </li><li>Ensure the program reflects best practices in training future mental health professionals and aligns with MCPHS educational partnerships. </li></ul> <p>Outreach & Collaboration (5%)</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver outreach programs, wellness workshops, and psychoeducational initiatives tailored to the needs of health-sciences students. </li><li>Participates in University-wide committees and programming/events such as Orientation, Open Houses, Commencement, and Residence Life training. </li><li>Serve as a liaison to key campus partners across Student Affairs, including Carbon Student Health Services, Center for Academic Success & Enrichment, and faculty. </li><li>Strengthen interdepartmental relationships to enhance holistic student support and promote a culture of well-being across the University. </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed clinician. </li><li>Current licensure as LICSW, LMHC, or Licensed Psychologist through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. </li><li>A minimum of two to three years of experience supervising and training intern staff. </li><li>Crisis Management experience, including serving on call. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience working in a college environment preferred </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Typical office or administrative working conditions. Staff are not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is primarily sedentary in nature; there are no special physical demands. </li><li>Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone. </li><li>This is primarily an in-person position with the possibility of some remote work. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <p>The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.</p> <p>Hiring Range: $78,800-$88,300</p> <p>Apply</p> <p>Please attach a cover letter and a curriculum vitae/resume.
