<p>General Definition of Work</p> <p>The benefits/billing administrator, under moderate supervision, performs complex work with limited decision-making discretion administering insurance plans in compliance with carrier policies, ACA, COBRA, FMLA and Section 125 Cafeteria benefits regulations. This position is responsible for employee supplemental retirement plan information/processing. Employee performs administrative/support work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to employee state/supplemental benefits under the direction of the Benefits and Risk Management Manager.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Salary/Status</p> <p>NC 14 Hourly Non-Certified Schedule/Full-time, 12 months</p> <p>Reports To</p> <p>Benefits and Risk Management Manager</p> <p>Place of Work</p> <p>The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures </li><li>Assist employees with enrolling in supplemental insurance plans including dental, vision, life, and voluntary supplemental retirement plans </li><li>Calculate premium adjustments and complete weekly payroll uploads to platform for insurance payroll deductions, changes, and discrepancies </li><li>Serve as employee resource for troubleshooting deduction/reconciliation inquiries </li><li>Administer local and state supplemental retirement plan options (i.e., 403B, 457, 401k) </li><li>Meet with insurance broker to maintain quality plans/customer service for employees </li><li>Maintain up to date flex benefits material in and on multiple platforms for employees </li><li>Maintain a variety of insurance records including carrier contracts, and employee records for reference and audits </li><li>Prepare/create various reports using carrier software, spreadsheets, as needed/required </li><li>Collaborate and resolve insurance benefit concerns along with reporting and reconciliation problems </li><li>Assist beneficiaries with death claims; complete necessary forms and monitor status </li><li>Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly </li><li>Ensure that all Human Resources systems are fair, equitable, and adhere to state, federal, and local laws, and school board policies </li><li>Facilitate/participate in professional development workshops and leadership training </li><li>Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations </li><li>Perform related work as assigned or required </li></ul>
