<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for assisting members of the Career Services team with the creation and implementation of internship and apprenticeship programs at Tulsa Community College. Use independent analysis and judgment to strategically cultivate long-term relationships and strengthen communication between students, alumni, employers, faculty, and other campus colleagues to create and develop internship/ apprenticeship and other employment opportunities.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <p>Advise students on available opportunities and assist them with acquiring internships appropriate to their goals.</p> <p>Work with VP of Workforce Development, Director of Career Services, faculty, academic deans, and local businesses to create and enhance internship and apprenticeship opportunities. Meet with employers on a regular basis to develop new internship/apprenticeship opportunities.</p> <p>Develop proficiency and knowledge of apprenticeship requirements from the US Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship and work with employers to develop and implement apprenticeship programs. Serve as an intermediary between the employer and the Office of Apprenticeship. Knowledge of OA RAPIDS software system.</p> <p>Counsel and prepare students for internships/apprenticeships and employment by establishing resources and scalable programming for internship/apprenticeship and employment preparation and the search process. Use labor market data to effectively advise students on best opportunities for employment in the Tulsa MSA.</p> <p>Build and develop new relationships, and maintain current relationships with community agencies, partners, and alumni that leads to internship/apprenticeship opportunities for students.</p> <p>Collaborate with the Director of Career Services to establish frameworks and systems for collecting and evaluating data on the internship/apprenticeship program.</p> <p>Work with Career Services staff on maintaining the internship/apprenticeship section of the Career Services resources webpage.</p> <p>Utilize Handshake, social media, and email to advertise important internships/apprenticeships and other employment opportunities.</p> <p>Communicate internship/apprenticeship guidelines to students, college personnel and employers.</p> <p>Assist with providing an intern/apprentice training program and resources for employers to ensure that internships/apprenticeships are aligned with the college, state, and federal guidelines.</p> <p>Work with Career Services staff on the development of career readiness programs. Take the lead in developing training programs for Career Services staff on apprenticeships/internships.</p> <p>Assist with various events, activities, and fairs on topics related to employment, internship/apprenticeship, and other experiential learning opportunities.</p> <p>Develop and deliver effective presentations for students, college staff/faculty, employers, and community groups on internships/apprenticeships. Become the college's subject-matter expert on apprenticeships/internships.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Global Career Development Facilitator (or equivalent) from the National Career Development Association (may be earned within the first year on the job).</p> <p>Associate's degree or equivalent education. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.</p> <p>1 year experience in designing and implementing internship/apprenticeship, or career services programs.</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</p> <p>Working knowledge of risk management issues within an academic setting, specifically, the Fair Labor Standards Act and Department of Labor guidelines as it applies to internships and apprenticeships.</p> <p>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds</p> <p>Require working primarily indoors. Some visits to employers will require outdoor duties.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.</p> <p>3 years relevant experience in internship/apprenticeship, or career services programs.</p> <p>Experience in higher education, career counseling/advising, or human resources.</p>
