<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Category: Elementary School Teaching/Primary - Grades 1-5 Location: North Canaan Elementary School Date of Availability: 08/19/2025</p> <p>Position: Grade 1 Elementary Classroom Teacher</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>As a 1st-grade elementary Classroom Teacher at North Canaan Elementary School, you will play a crucial role in building a strong academic and social foundation for young learners in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Successful candidates should possess a deep understanding of the CT Core Standards and demonstrate effective instructional and assessment practices that support student growth and achievement. A strong background in early literacy and numeracy development, along with experience in using data to inform instruction, is essential. Candidates should also be able to articulate their knowledge of tiered intervention strategies and their experience with the RTI process. Collaboration is necessary, and candidates must be committed to fostering a positive and engaging school culture. Lastly, flexibility, creativity, and a passion for student-centered learning are highly valued.</p> <p>About Us:</p> <p>North Canaan Elementary School is a PreK-8 public school in the heart of North Canaan, Connecticut.
