These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Elementary Teacher for Arlington Elementary School. Teachers at AES collaborate through a co-teaching model and receive consistent, embedded professional development to ensure all students receive meaningful, rigorous instruction in both academics and social-emotional learning. The ideal candidate is reflective, student-centered, collaborative, and passionate about growing as a professional in service of student success.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Planning and Preparation:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain daily classroom design and instructional schedule </li><li>Implement Core Knowledge ELA and Envisions Math with fidelity </li><li>Tailor lesson plans to individual learners using formative assessment data </li></ul> <p>Classroom Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions to support a positive classroom culture </li><li>Arrange small group learning to meet diverse student needs </li><li>Incorporate Zones of Regulation and SEL strategies into classroom routines </li><li>Demonstrate a warm, engaging, and energetic presence </li></ul> <p>Engaging Students in Learning:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and pose rigorous questions using Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels </li><li>Use SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) strategies to support language learners </li><li>Intentionally design lessons with collaborative student dialogue </li><li>Utilize data to design targeted intervention and enrichment groups </li></ul> <p>Professional Practice:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in weekly PLCs, team meetings, and individual coaching cycles </li><li>Engage with mission-aligned professional learning with a growth mindset </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date gradebooks </li><li>Conduct parent-teacher conferences twice per year (Fall and Spring) </li><li>Attend IEP, 504, and RtII meetings as needed </li><li>Participate in family engagement events and outreach </li><li>Foster strong home-school partnerships </li><li>Complete Science of Reading training and apply learnings in practice </li><li>Fulfill assigned lunch/recess, arrival, and dismissal duties </li><li>Uphold all school-wide policies and expectations </li><li>Take on other duties as assigned by grade-level, department leaders, or the leadership team </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices </li><li>Strong collaboration and communication skills </li><li>Effective classroom management and positive behavior systems </li><li>Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, including differentiation </li><li>Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly </li><li>Familiarity with Science of Reading and SEL frameworks </li><li>Willingness to participate in continuous professional growth </li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues </li><li>Bilingual communication skills (highly valued) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate content area </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in English </li><li>Experience or training in co-teaching models preferred </li><li>Experience with or openness to restorative practices and SEL curriculum </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and adult learning </li><li>Bilingual candidates highly encouraged to apply </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
