<p>Role, Function & Organization</p> <p>The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects. This role involves reviewing specifications and drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and collaborating with project teams, vendors, and management to develop detailed bids. As such the following values guide our behaviors: A Servant's Heart -- Focus on the Needs of Others, Wisdom -- Insightful, Integrity -- Honesty and Trustworthy, Courage -- Decisive and Confident in Others, Humility -- Modest and Respectful, Passion -- Unfailing Dedication</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Estimating:</p> <ul> <li>Review proposal specifications, drawings, and customer standards to determine the full scope of work and estimating requirements </li><li>Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work </li><li>Prepare estimate breakdowns; provide information to Project Manager </li><li>Create and update estimates using estimating/project management software </li><li>Submit bids and proposals on projects estimated after approval </li></ul> <p>Cost & Data Management:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and update cost databases and estimating systems with current supplier pricing, labor rates, and unit values </li><li>Collect and analyze supplier data to ensure accurate and competitive bid preparation </li><li>Recommend and implement improvements to estimating tools and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy </li></ul> <p>Project Coordination & Documentation:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain organized, up-to-date project files and drawings to support accuracy throughout the estimating process </li><li>Turn over finalized estimates and supporting documentation to managers and leadership as required </li><li>Coordinate with vendors to ensure project specifications and pricing align with project requirements </li><li>Complete additional assignments as directed to support team and organizational goals </li></ul> <p>Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:</p> <ul> <li>Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. </li><li>Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. </li><li>Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company.? Support goal of achieving zero accidents. </li><li>Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed. </li><li>Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma (or equivalent) required </li><li>Higher education OR equivalent experience preferred </li><li>Experience within the construction (specifically electrical construction) industry preferred </li><li>Ability to read and understand various construction documents </li></ul> <p>Experience, Skill and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide knowledge, skills and availabilities needed to perform the jobs (i.e. language, software applications, etc.) </li><li>Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams) </li><li>Strong self-motivation, work ethic, and drive for career growth </li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of the company and customers </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Office environment, requiring sitting and standing and extended amounts of time using a computer/keyboard at a single workstation.</p> <p>MP Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
