EO/AA</p> <p>This position facilitates the building of new buildings and spaces, each one replacing and enhancing existing services and creating space for new programs. The incumbent will be responsible for budgeting, specifying and tracking major and minor furnishings and equipment for projects. This position will work closely with the Planning, Design and Construction teams, end users, clinical staff, Hospital Purchasing, Finance, Facilities Management, architects and other members of the multi-disciplinary project team to facilitate the procurement and delivery of all equipment.This position is not responsible for providing patient care.</p> <p>Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Meets with end users and designers to identify and evaluate current equipment and determine new equipment to be purchased for the project. </li><li>Develops new or utilizes existing database to track all equipment planning, procurement, costs and delivery for the project. </li><li>Develops and manages equipment delivery schedule and coordinates schedule with design team and general contractor. </li><li>Provides ongoing and ad hoc reports to project leadership regarding the status of the equipment budget and schedule. </li><li>Works with vendors and Purchasing department to obtain quotes, cut sheets and technical specifications for required equipment. </li><li>Coordinates with design team and general contractor to share equipment cut sheets and technical specifications. </li><li>Coordinates with Purchasing department to ensure the timely delivery of equipment to maintain project schedules. </li><li>Works with Facilities Management department to coordinate delivery and installation of owner-installed equipment. </li><li>Submits all approved requests and required documentation so Hospital Purchasing can issue the purchase orders. </li><li>Coordinates with Finance Asset Management to identify new capital equipment purchases and assign them to the correct department. </li><li>Assists in the development of enterprise-wide equipment standards for all future construction projects. </li><li>Performs other duties as required to meet deadlines, contributing to the success of the project or to support project management. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. </li><li>Excellent communication and facilitation skills. </li><li>Detail oriented with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects of varying scope. </li><li>Demonstrated computer proficiency, including database management, spreadsheets and report development. </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while functioning effectively with the rest of the project team. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Project Management, a related field, or the equivalency. </li><li>Four (4) years of experience with equipment planning and procurement coordination. </li><li>Dependent upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver's License may be required. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Preferred)</p> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Equipment planning experience in a healthcare setting. </li><li>Experience working with architectural and construction drawings and documents. </li><li>Understanding of architectural and design schedules and the ability to coordinate equipment programming with building design and construction. </li><li>Experience working on large capital development projects. </li><li>Familiarity with Hospital and/or Campus Purchasing policies and procedures. </li><li>Familiarity with medical equipment and medical terminology. </li><li>Working knowledge or proficiency with Attainia. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</p> <p>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>This position involves sedentary to light work and may exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in an office setting. The employee may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects from 10 - 20 pounds. While visiting a construction site, the incumbent may be exposed to hazards such as noise, vibration, or atmospheric conditions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Carrying, Color Determination, Manual Dexterity, Reaching, Sitting, Standing, Walking</p>
