<p>Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (CVAHCS) is a Level 3 facility with service-lines serving medical, mental health, surgical, and neurological outpatients, with a Level 3 Emergency Department, and multiple Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The City of Loveland is the second most populous municipality in Larimer County, Colorado. Loveland is situated 46 miles north of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver.</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) II Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) practices in Primary Care Service to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The NP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management.</p> <p>The NP practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification. Core functions are outlined in the clinical privileges that correspond with this position. The NP has prescriptive authority for a panel of patients or program as indicated by their position.</p> <p>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed independent practitioner with advanced education and national certification who provides evidence-based care for a population of patients. The Nurse Practitioner is a professional, independent practitioner with advanced education and appropriate experience who provides evidence-based care for a specific population of patients. The NP is an expert clinician who uses advanced assessment, planning and evaluating competencies, as well as approved standardized procedures, to provide family centered, preventive and illness management healthcare incorporating the patient's age, gender, culture and learning abilities in the treatment plan. The NP works collaboratively with many disciplines to provide care, including physicians, pharmacists, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, dietitians, social workers, clerical and administrative staff, community agencies and others as appropriate.
