This role blends advanced analytics, financial modeling, forecasting, and machine learning to improve labor efficiency, store performance, and long-term operational planning-supporting both day-to-day execution and key 2026 initiatives.</p> <p>Why this role matters:</p> <p>This role directly impacts labor efficiency, store-level financial performance, and enterprise decision-making by enabling leaders to plan, forecast, and execute with confidence using accurate, actionable data.</p> <p>Location/Schedule:</p> <p>This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters with a 4-day hybrid in-office schedule.</p> <p>Position Summary & Day-to-Day Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Operations Analyst drives operational excellence by developing advanced reporting, forecasting models, and insights that support Retail Operations, Finance, and field leaders in making data-driven decisions.</p> <ul> <li>Develop, automate, and maintain operational dashboards and reports focused on labor modeling, productivity, compliance, and execution metrics. </li><li>Analyze labor forecasts, store performance trends, and operational KPIs to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and execution consistency. </li><li>Support store-level budget development by partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Workforce Management, and Operations leaders. </li><li>Build, test, and enhance machine-learning and regression-based forecasting models to improve labor allocation, workload planning, and reporting accuracy. </li><li>Enhance AIP and OES metrics and dashboards to ensure clear performance visibility and actionable insights for leaders. </li><li>Conduct ad hoc analyses and present insights and recommendations that influence operational strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. </li><li>Maintain data integrity and governance standards across reporting platforms including Ridgeline, UKG, Zenput, ServiceNow, and Trailhead. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Operations, Finance, HR Tech, Communications, and Workforce Management on reporting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives. </li></ul> <p>You'll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience in operations, reporting, or data analytics, preferably in a retail, convenience store, or multi-unit environment. </li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, complex formulas, and lookups. </li><li>Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL and R or Python for data transformation, modeling, and automation. </li><li>Strong knowledge of corporate finance, including budgeting and P&L analysis, to support store-level financial planning. </li><li>Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences. </li><li>The Maverik Spirit - you're a clear communicator, team player, and problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Bonus points if you also bring:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with machine-learning concepts, forecasting models, or regression-based algorithms. </li><li>Experience working with systems such as Ridgeline, UKG, Zenput, Trailhead, or similar enterprise platforms. </li><li>Certification or coursework in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <p>Pay Range: $70,000-$85,500 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities</p> <p>The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.</p> <p>Benefits Include:</p> <ul> <li>Full Health, Dental, and Vision Package with company contribution to cost </li><li>In-Store and Fuel Discounts </li><li>Retirement plan with company match (401K) </li><li>Eligible for the annual incentive bonus program </li><li>Profit Sharing: When Maverik succeeds, so do you.
