<p>Job Title: Job Captain</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join our dynamic team as a Job Captain, where your expertise in REVIT, architecture, and construction documents will drive the success of multi-family and mixed-use projects. You will be responsible for day-to-day management of assigned projects and assist in project planning and design, collaborating with a team that grows and shrinks according to project phases.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage assigned projects daily, working closely with a Senior Project Manager or Partner. </li><li>Oversee project assistants and collaborate with a team that adjusts in size based on project phase. </li><li>Analyze project context, building materials, and precedents to inform design decisions. </li><li>Develop conceptual and preliminary designs for buildings in plan, section, and elevation. </li><li>Create 3D visualizations of design concepts using various mediums. </li><li>Perform project site planning, zoning, and local code analysis and application. </li><li>Conduct building code analysis and application. </li><li>Design and detail architectural systems and components for buildings. </li><li>Interpret drawings, technical documentation, schematics, and reports. </li><li>Attend meetings with owners, clients, and consultants as required. </li><li>Assist staff in developing technical documentation, proposals, and presentations. </li><li>Coordinate project designs with other disciplines. </li><li>Assist in in-house engineering design and drawing (C,S,M,E,P). </li><li>Communicate design requirements with contractors and clients. </li><li>Execute architectural studies and design analyses using industry software. </li><li>Conduct project job site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance. </li><li>Learn and follow company technical policies and procedures. </li><li>Develop project designs using drafting tools, equipment, and software. </li><li>Perform activities consistent with ethical standards outlined in the company handbook. </li><li>Attend in-house training sessions for technical knowledge. </li><li>Under supervision, perform and document engineering calculations and system design. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>4-8 years of experience in mixed-use multi-family projects. </li><li>Full proficiency in REVIT. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. </li><li>Proficiency in drafting, redlining, construction documents, and drawings. </li><li>Experience with residential architecture and design. </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Design Suite. </li><li>Knowledge of building codes, standards, structures, systems, construction materials, and specifications. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and leadership abilities. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree in Architecture; Licensure is a plus. </li><li>3-8 years of experience with architecture or engineering firms, specifically in mixed-use and/or multi-family projects. </li><li>A demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analyses within the discipline. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>You will be working in an A&E firm with 40-50 employees, alongside a full team of MEP/Structural/Civil engineers. The culture is vibrant and fun, with a majority of staff having under 10 years of experience. There are numerous office activities promoting a positive work environment. Work hours typically start at 8AM, with the expectation to work 40 hours per week or more based on project deadlines.
