<p>Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Work Schedule: In accordance with the D.A.A. CBA</p> <p>Pay Rate: In accordance with the D.A.A. Salary Schedule</p> <p>Essential Job Funcionts: see below *duties are subject to all/any revisions in the terms set forth in teh D.A.A. CBA</p> <p>Education / Formal Training:</p> <ul> <li>Candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, one of which musta have a major field concentration in eduction. </li></ul> <p>Certification / License:</p> <p>Candidate shall have a Massachusetts subject matter/vocational teacher license and an adminstrative license issued pursuant to M.G.L. c. 71, s. 38G; (i.e. Vocational Technical Supervisor/Director License).</p> <p>Knowledge and Skills:</p> <p>Candidate shall have a minimum of five years full time administrative, supervisory, counseling or instructional or a combination thereof in a school setting preferably in the are of vocational technical or vocational eduction. Candidate shall have demonstrated skills that demonstrated skills that address the Professional Standards for Administrators and/or Vocational Administrators as outlined by the Massachusetts Departmetn of Elementary and Seconday Education.</p> <p>Trade experience is preferred.</p> <p>Essential Funcions:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Coordinates projects between various Vocational education departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains up-to-date curricula in all vocational areas. This will be accomplished by working with the department head and teachers in that particular department. This responsibility does not relieve a department head or teachers of their responsibility in this area.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides support to Vocational education teachers (shop and shop related) in the maintenance of program and student progress reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Disciplines students in matters related to shop activities; supervise teachers (shop and shop related) and vocational department heads;</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the Cooperative Education Coordinator in developing cooperative employment programs and/or training; assists in placing students.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and maintains, with Department Heads, an up-to-date inventory of equipment.</p> </li></ol> <p>onducts periodic meetings with Vocational department heads and/or teachers to discuss mutual problems and to evaluate programs.</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Maintains an accurate register of community services activities and projects performed by the individual shops and submits quarterly reports to the Superintendent-Director and Assistant Superintendent/Principal detailing these activities and projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and submits annual report to the Superintendent-Director and/or Assistant Superintendent/Principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the development and coordination of the sections of the budget that pertain to vocational curricula and instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with other administrators to update, plan, and evaluate the total school curriculum.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates with the special needs coordinator in areas of mutual concern.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps abreast of developments in CVTE curriculum and instruction, and furnishes leadership in determining their appropriateness for inclusion in the district educational program.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the requisitioning of educational textbooks, supplies, and equipment needed for the orderly operation of the shops and school.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with the administrators in the preparation of student and staff schedules and the course of study.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises instruction so that it represents a unified and coordinated plan geared toward the improvement of learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Observes the in-class performance of teachers, and confers and consults with them regarding their professional development</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates the effectiveness of the vocational staff in accordance with established procedures and report the same to the Superintendent-Director and/or Assistant Superintendent/Principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates with the vocational department heads the development of curriculum, maintenance of plan books, inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates vocational teaching staff, resolves student-teacher conflicts, and supervises and provides guidance to new vocational staff members.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates with recommendations, requests from vocational department heads for vocational teachers' participation in workshops and conferences and transmits recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent/Principal.</p> </li><li> <p>Appraises continuously the effectiveness of the total vocational programs under his/her supervision and control, as well as of all its component parts, and keeps the Superintendent-Director informed as to the educational needs within the vocational program of the school.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists the Assistant Superintendent/Principal in the overall administration of the school.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the school.</p> </li><li> <p>Handles all discipline and complaints affecting the vocational departments and invokes appropriate disciplinary action consistent with school district policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in establishing opening-closing school procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs such record keeping functions as the principal may direct.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in planning and preparation of self-evaluation of school consistent with criteria established by N.E.A.S.C.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports to the Superintendent-Director and Assistant Superintendent/Principal any serious infringement of property rights, breaches of contract, injury to student or teacher or any other member of the departmental staff wherein the rights and the responsibilities of the department and the school may be involved.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent-Director and/or the Assistant Superintendent/Principal.</p> </li><li> <p>The Assistant Principal of Technical Affairs is responsible for his/her professional development and all matters related to maintaining his/her MDESE license. Failure to do so may be grounds for termination.</p> </li></ol>
