<p>This position is available start May 2025 school year.</p> <ul> <li>Masters Degree and valid Ohio superintendent's license desired. </li><li>Shall meet all requirements of law and be governed by Ohio Law. </li><li>Prior experience as a central office or building level administrator or in a related field preferred. </li><li>Criminal background check or investigation that is free of violations that prohibit public school employment. </li><li>Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills. </li><li>Commitment to keeping current with technological advances. </li><li>Contract Days: 230 days. </li><li>Date of Employment: August 1, 2025. </li></ul> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Assist the Superintendent with the effective operation and continuous improvement of the school district's operations and facilities. Administer the business divisions of maintenance, purchasing, transportation, food services and business contracted services. Assist and supervise in the planning of all building construction and renovation. Encourage innovations and promote an effective learning environment. Keep the Superintendent informed about emerging issues.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Personnel and contract administration. </li><li>Oversight of classified staff and facilities. </li><li>Special administrative assignments as deemed necessary by the Superintendent. </li><li>Attend meetings of the Board of Education. </li><li>Work cooperatively with all members of the administrative staff in recommending, formulating, and interpreting administrative policy. </li><li>Responsible for coordinating rental and facility use of all school property. </li><li>Responsible for development of and training for all staff with the district emergency crisis plan. </li><li>Resolve building level problems requiring central office intervention. </li><li>Resolve building parental issues requiring central office intervention. </li><li>Supervise the periodic revision of policies and administrative guidelines (i.e. NEOLA policy service). Prepare program, policy, and administrative recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the educational enterprise. </li><li>Prepare monthly personnel and business agenda and information related to assigned duties for the Board of Education meetings. </li><li>Uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures. </li><li>Maintain visibility; promote a favorable image of the school district. </li><li>Build community partnerships that enhance district programs and services, chair of district facilities advisory committee. </li><li>Assist the Superintendent and Treasurer with the timely submission of reports, records, and inventories. </li><li>Provide staff leadership. Develop action plans. Help resolve problems. Maintain open and effective communications with staff, parents, and the community. </li><li>Coordinate staff recruitment, selection, placement, and orientation processes for assigned areas of responsibility. </li><li>Maintain and supervise up-to-date district personnel files and job descriptions. </li><li>Helps teachers and administrators with discipline and pupil management issues. Prepares student discipline recommendations for the Superintendent's consideration. </li><li>Serve as the Board of Education hearing officer and review all suspension appeals. </li><li>Under direction of superintendent, negotiate and oversee performance contract with outside vendors. </li><li>Collaborate with administration to improve staff competencies. </li><li>Support opportunities for staff to develop new skills. </li><li>Supervise the operations and programs of the district departments, including cafeteria, custodial, transportation and maintenance. Supervise classified personnel. Oversee facilities. </li><li>Respect personal privacy. Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information. </li><li>Under the direction of the Superintendent, assume coordination of negotiated contract review and negotiations with associations/unions. </li><li>Interpret contract language as it relates fairly to administration behavior toward employee groups. </li><li>Administer the personal, vacation, and sick leave program for all classified staff. </li><li>Work cooperatively with the building principals in evaluating the classified staff as outlined in the Negotiated Agreement. </li><li>Evaluate other administrative employees as deemed necessary by the Superintendent. </li><li>Responsible for advising superintendent on decision to delay or close school due to inclement weather. </li><li>Assist in the planning and preparation of information bulletins, school newsletters, annual reports and other media designed to inform the public about school programs. </li><li>Serve as district grievance officer. </li><li>Encourage parent organizations. Support and participate in school and student activities as time permits. </li><li>Participate in national, state, and/or regional activities that advance district goals. </li><li>Participate in professional growth opportunities. </li><li>Accept personal responsibility for decisions and conduct. </li><li>Salary: Based on training and experience in accordance with the district salary schedule. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings;</p> </li><li> <p>Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values; and</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts other duties as assigned by the superintendent.</p> </li></ol> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Occasional exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional operations of a motor vehicle under inclement weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Occasional interactions with unruly people</p> </li></ol> <p>This job description in no manner or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by the position incumbent.
