<p>Staffmark is hiring a Manual Surface & Mill Grinder in Montebello, CA. Set up and operate manual grinding and milling machines to finish metal parts to precise specs. Requires strong machining skills, blueprint reading, and knowledge of tight tolerances.</p> <p>Pay Rate: $22.00/hour</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Operate manual surface grinders and milling machines </li><li>Set up equipment, selecting appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints and layouts </li><li>Measure workpieces with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and perform quality checks </li><li>Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep workspace clean </li><li>Follow all safety procedures and work independently </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>HS diploma or equivalent (trade school a plus) </li><li>3-5 years' experience with manual grinders and mills </li><li>Skilled in blueprint reading and precision measuring </li><li>Familiar with tight tolerances (±0.001") and surface finishes </li><li>Knowledge of metals (steel, tool steel, aluminum) </li><li>Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and quality-driven </li><li>Toolroom or mold/die experience preferred </li><li>Able to multitask and prioritize work </li><li>Physically able to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs </li><li>Good manual dexterity; comfortable in a machine shop </li></ul> <p>Why You'll Love This Job:</p> <p>We offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your health, financial goals, and work-life balance.
