<p>Description</p> <p>In Quality Assurance (QA), Team Leaders serve as a critical resource to associates and managers within Publix manufacturing facilities by being on-the-floor work participants with associates and covering for vacations and unplanned absences. This includes performing tasks and assuming specific responsibilities of the Department Manager in his/her absence, and planning and conducting job skill training for all associates. Team Leaders report to the Quality Assurance Department Manager.</p> <p>Additional Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>HACCP Plan development, monitoring and data verification for all products and processes </li><li>maintain Food Safety and Quality Programs including SQF, allergens, SSOPs and other prerequisite programs </li><li>interaction with regulatory and external auditors (Florida Department of Agriculture, FDA, USDA and 3rd party auditors) which can include accompanying the auditor and corrective action plan follow up </li><li>interaction with plant management which includes assisting departments in researching quality-related issues </li><li>act as QA department point of contact in the absence of the QA manager </li><li>monitor and verify QA department responsibilities </li><li>effectively communicate food safety and quality programs using job instruction training techniques to QA as well as other department associates as needed </li><li>perform tasks in the work area (when necessary) which include: </li><li>being an on the work floor participant with production associates (when necessary) </li><li>cover for unplanned absences </li><li>schedule associate labor needs </li><li>promote and enforce associate quality and food safety standards </li><li>verify the maintenance of equipment, preventive maintenance and work orders </li><li>understand production and ability to execute department requirements </li><li>maintain Good Manufacturing Practices within the facility </li><li>be a role model for plant associates </li><li>track customer complaints, investigation and correspondence </li><li>lead and drive improvement of plant operations through continuous improvement projects </li><li>study and analyze KPI's and data and apply to departmental improvement </li><li>plan and respond to out of the ordinary events </li><li>other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Your application may have additional steps that you will need to complete in order to remain eligible for consideration. Once your application has been successfully submitted you will receive a confirmation email.</p> <p>For this position, Publix does not and will not file a petition or application with the USCIS or Department of State on behalf of any noncitizen for any immigration-related benefit to work and/or to continue to work in the United States, e.g., an H-1B or TN petition or permanent residence.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>high school diploma or its equivalent </li><li>must be at least 18 years old </li><li>ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours a day), bending, squatting, and climbing ladders </li><li>knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) </li><li>knowledge of Safety Data Sheets ( SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) </li><li>working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) </li><li>ability to demonstrate safe working habits </li><li>ability to learn and perform all positions </li><li>ability to work in a fast-paced environment </li><li>understanding of highly complex industrial/manufacturing equipment </li><li>ability to work well with others and be a team player </li><li>ability to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours </li><li>willingness to assist other team members in other areas </li><li>ability to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time </li><li>ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision </li><li>possess basic math skills </li><li>excellent written and verbal communication skills </li><li>obvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and </li><li>a commitment to Publix and our mission. </li></ul> <p>.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Some college coursework in Business, Engineering, and/or Food Science </li><li>knowledge of laboratory (chemical and microbiological) and ability to be a resource to all departments </li><li>knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance and ability to provide assistance to all departments </li><li>knowledge of HACCP and SSOP Programs and ability to train all associates in this area </li><li>department experience related to the position and </li><li>knowledge of general Publix and Manufacturing policies and procedures. </li></ul>
