<p>Use accounting knowledge and professional judgment to accurately analyze and journalize accounting transactions. Understand and complete monthly accounting close responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner. Demonstrate independence and responsibility in managing assigned duties. Willingly share knowledge and assist others. Communicate with others to understand and resolve transaction variances and reconcile accounting records. Perform and understand complex balance sheet reconciliations. Complete other duties or special projects each month as assigned by management.</p> <p>Principal Duties: 5-7 duties critical to competently performing the job.</p> <ul> <li>Judgmentally analyze and evaluate revenue, expense, and balance sheet data and prepare appropriate journal entries to properly reflect underlying transactions. </li><li>Work independently to prepare and record journal entries for designated companies, accounts, or areas of responsibility by appropriate deadlines. </li><li>Prepare monthly G/L account reconciliations including complex balance sheet accounts. </li><li>Research G/L or other accounting discrepancies and interact professionally and appropriately with other accounting personnel or other departments to facilitate timely resolution. </li><li>Complete month-end assignments in an accurate and timely manner. </li><li>Perform variance analysis of financial statement accounts. </li><li>Complete additional duties or projects as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities which are REQUIRED</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other closely-related field. </li><li>Understanding of accounting principles and proper application. </li><li>Four years general accounting experience or two years public accounting experience </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products with emphasis in Excel. </li><li>Ability to organize time and schedule to complete all assigned tasks, both recurring and ad-hoc, during the month-end reporting cycle. </li><li>Occasional light physical effort and frequent exposure to stress as a result of month-end reporting deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities which are PREFFERED</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to Mortgage or Financial Services industry. </li><li>Proficiency with SQL </li><li>Data mining and analysis background </li></ul> <p>Manager Accounting</p> <p>Use accounting knowledge and professional acumen to accurately analyze and journalize accounting transactions. Skillfully communicate with others to understand and resolve transaction variances and reconcile accounting records.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare, manage, and review GAAP, regulatory, and internal financial statements, reports, schedules, and supporting data components </li><li>Judgmentally and independently analyze and evaluate complex revenue and expense activity </li><li>Work independently to prepare and record journal entries to properly reflect underlying transactions while adhering to deadlines </li><li>Prepare monthly G/L account reconciliations and account variance analysis of financial statement accounts including service fees </li><li>Independently research and resolve G/L or other accounting discrepancies and interact professionally and appropriately with other accounting personnel or other departments to facilitate timely resolution </li><li>Prepare ad hoc reports, presentations, or analysis for the Asst. Controller and Controller </li><li>Maintain good communication with upper management and all other relevant departments to ensure successful completion of Accounting's duties </li><li>Propose and implement internal controls. Identify best practices and assist in developing performance measurements. Develop and document operating procedures to improve business processes. </li><li>Perform month-end Accounting duties and other special projects under strict deadlines, including ad hoc requests </li><li>Manage competing priorities and adapt to a changing work environment Experience and Education </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other closely-related field </li><li>Five years' experience applying accounting principles and theories (some public accounting audit experience preferred) </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office products with emphasis in Excel </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work cross functionally </li><li>Ability to organize and arrange time and schedule to complete all assigned tasks, both recurring and ad hoc, during the month-end reporting cycle </li></ul> <p>We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
