<p>MAU is hiring a TIG Welder for our client in Columbia, SC. As a TIG Welder, you will perform high-quality welds on pipe and structural steel assemblies, ensuring all work meets ASME pressure vessel and piping codes. This is a direct-hire opportunity.</p> <p>Benefits Package</p> <ul> <li>401(k) </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Opportunity for advancement </li><li>On-the-job training </li></ul> <p>Shift Information</p> <ul> <li>Monday-Thursday | 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM </li><li>Occasional Fridays required </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of on-the-job TIG welding experience </li><li>Experience welding pipe diameters ranging from ½" to 36" in all positions </li><li>Experience welding structural steel in all positions </li><li>No high school diploma or GED required </li></ul> <p>General Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must pass weld test in a fixed 6G position </li><li>Must be able to operate high-frequency amperage control foot pedal </li><li>Must be able to identify the correct filler wire for the given base metal </li><li>Ability to interpret drawings and welding symbols for pipe assemblies and skids </li><li>Must be able to calculate pipe fittings "take-outs" and piping measurements </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Ensure all welds pass ASME pressure vessel and piping codes </li><li>Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for full penetration welds </li><li>Perform GTA welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex stainless steel </li><li>Interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols </li><li>Calculate accurate measurements for pipe assembly </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Work performed in a fabrication shop environment </li><li>Cleaner than an average shop </li><li>No travel required </li><li>Positive and supportive work environment </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform TIG welding in a fixed 6G position </li></ul>
