We look forward to meeting you.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>HII seeks an experienced Senior Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit Analyst 4 to join our team!</p> <p>Responsibilities include</p> <ul> <li>Support annual preparation and filing of the U.S. Federal R&D Tax Credit (Form 6765). </li><li>Collaborate with business segments, technology teams, and other subject matter experts to identify qualified research activities and related expenditures. </li><li>Assist in application of the IRS four-part test to assess eligibility of projects and activities. </li><li>Analyze financial data, project records, and technical documents to substantiate claims. </li><li>Prepare and / or review externally prepared R&D tax credit reports and supporting documentation. </li><li>Ensure compliance with governing IRS regulations and applicable court cases. </li><li>Work closely with internal subject matter experts to optimize tax positions. </li><li>Assist in defending R&D tax credit claims in audits or inquiries from tax authorities. </li><li>Assist in developing processes for identifying and capturing qualifying research activities and related expenses. </li><li>Work with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools. </li><li>Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to R&D incentives. </li></ul> <p>Must Have</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience, preferably with federal R&D tax credit; Master's Degree and 8 year of relevant professional experience.</p> <p>Nice to Have</p> <ul> <li>Experience in R&D tax credit analysis, including identification of qualifying research activities and calculation of qualifying research expenses. </li><li>Experience with technical tax research (e.g., CCH, RIA, BNA portfolios, etc.) </li><li>Experience with the shipbuilding industry </li><li>Experience with data analysis, including Power BI and Alteryx </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint </li><li>Strong technology, organizational, and project management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Strong analytical and research skills </li><li>CPA designation </li></ul> <p>Why HII</p> <p>We build the world's most powerful, survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas, sky, land, space and cyber.
