You will be a critical member of projects related to cost down, component end-of-life issues, field complaint resolution implementation, and more, in a very visible and fast-paced role.</p> <p>Impact patient outcomes. Come for a job, stay for a career.</p> <p>Medtronic strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions.</p> <p>The Medical Surgical business unit set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.</p> <p>The RPE Engineer will work closely with the project management office, Medtronic design engineers, and our contract manufacturing sites. You will be able to dive in deep technically, and lead design change initiatives on the capital equipment products used in Robotic Surgery. We're working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.</p> <p>Location: This position will be based out of Medtronic's campus in North Haven CT.</p> <p>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Lead change development plan for design changes to Hugo </li><li>Be central communication point for all project related activity </li><li>Work with engineers to develop a deep understanding of the technological underpinnings of the system </li><li>Assess timeline impacts against project schedule </li><li>Perform action item follow up </li><li>Create purchase requisitions </li><li>Deliver meeting minutes </li></ul> <p>Must Have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of engineering experience </li><li>An advanced degree with 2+ years of engineering experience </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>5-7 years of medical device engineering experience </li><li>Experience with a large company with a global footprint, understanding of matrix structures, and having project management experience executing goals with cross functional teams using Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies </li><li>Thorough understanding of product development life cycle/process </li><li>Understanding the role of a Product owner using an Agile environment </li><li>Experience building and prioritizing backlogs </li><li>Understanding of the change development process (CDP) for implementing small-med-large projects </li><li>Understanding/experience with executing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and championing cause-map activities with broad cross-functional teams </li><li>Medical product development experience including hands-on experience with medical/surgical devices/instruments; familiarity with medical device regulations including IEC 62304 </li><li>Experience SDLC process and tools including JIRA and AGILE PLM/PQM </li><li>Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs </li><li>Ability to work with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers when discovering, documenting, and resolving integration issues </li></ul> <p>Physical Job Requirements</p> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.</p> <p>The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PR) locations (USD):$102,400 - $153,600</p> <p>The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
