<p>The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Education Coach to support students making the transition to college or career life. This person will work closely with the Transition Coordinator to develop a community conducive to student success by encouraging positive behaviors. There will be opportunities for small group and individual instruction as well.</p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Support students with intellectual/developmental disabilities age 18-22 in inclusive post-secondary education settings </li><li>Coach students in the typical role for a college student or employee including appropriate classroom/work behavior, study skills, test-taking skills note-taking, time management and/or organizational skills </li><li>Help students plan and practice personal safety techniques, self-advocacy and assertiveness skills and social skills allowing students to be as independent as possible in the college and work environment </li><li>Assist students in travel training when the option is available </li><li>Work with high school liaison and/ or Transition Coordinator to develop strategies to assist the student with learning and communication </li><li>Strategize with the student on how to communicate with faculty/supervisors regarding job expectations, course work, and/or assignments </li><li>Communicate in a positive manner and relate to students, college faculty/staff, work site staff, high school staff and families </li><li>Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students </li><li>Work with the Transition Coordinator to provide vocational, social, and emotional support and intervention at internships/work sites </li><li>Work collaboratively with a team of general education and special education teachers and therapists </li><li>Collect and share data with special education liaison on student performance </li></ul>
