One of only four centers of its kind in the nation, the Center is dedicated to advancing the systems and methods of EMS. We teach, test, and certify the people who provide care to the ill or injured prior to hospital admission.</p> <p>ACLS, PALS & NRP Instructors provide lecture presentations, and skills instruction according to American Heart Association Community Training Center standards. Courses are provided for the UCLA Medical Center, and general medical community at large. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing demonstrations, acting as a student advocate in the learning process, creating an active learning environment, ensuring course requirements, and objectives are met, assisting in the development of educational objectives as well as testing methods, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>This is a 10% per diem position which may convert to career.</p> <p>Salary range: $30.56-$60.82 Hourly</p> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility</p> <p>1.Current certification as an EMT, Paramedic, RT, RN, PA, MD.</p> <p>2.Baccalaureate degree in health-related field, nursing, health care administration, health care education, emergency medical services or a related field (preferred).</p> <p>3.Minimum of one (1) year work experience on an ambulance or in a hospital emergency department.</p> <p>4.Current provider certification in BLS, ACLS or PALS or NRP from the American Heart Association.</p> <p>5.Current instructor certification from the American Heart Association in ACLS or PALS or NRP. (must be obtained within 6 months of employment).</p> <p>6.Completion of NAEMSE/NHTSA EMS educator course, Firefighter IA/IB, American Heart Association "Core" instructor course (must be obtained within 6 months of</p> <p>employment).</p> <p>7.Detailed knowledge and experience in the application and techniques of clinical equipment and supplies.</p> <p>8.Working knowledge of the different scopes of practices for EMTs, paramedics, registered nurses, and physicians.</p> <p>9.Excellent communication and presentation skills.</p> <p>10.Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable parts</p> <p>11.Available to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.</p> <p>12.Ability to foster a stimulating classroom environment.</p> <p>13.Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction.</p> <p>14.Skill in working as part of a team collaborating with colleagues.</p> <p>15.Valid unrestricted California drivers' license. Available to drive personal vehicle to off campus locations for contract instructional assignments or special projects.</p> <p>16.Ability to provide service-oriented customer assistance in a professional and courteous manner.</p> <p>17.Interpersonal skills to excel in relations supervisor, staff, students, and the public.</p> <p>As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; received notice of any allegations or are currently the subject of any administrative or disciplinary proceedings involving misconduct; have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.</p>
