<p>Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor</p> <p>Department: Operations</p> <p>Reports to: Maintenance Manager</p> <p>Swing Shift Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm</p> <p>Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for supervising all installation, repair, and upkeep of our company's facilities, as well as managing risk and improving equipment efficiency. Tasks include maintaining industrial machinery, production machinery and building, planning repair activities, developing maintenance procedures, including preventative maintenance, performing engineering support, budget management, and assigning schedules.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty satisfactorily. Other duties/functions may be added or assigned.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, monitoring, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Must effectively manage a staff that works the 24/7 schedule and properly communicate and coordinate activities on the evening and weekend work schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise the facilities maintenance activities across one or more facilities including but not limited to the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the physical maintenance and repair of equipment and systems at one or more sites.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommends measures to improve the performance and quality of equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that all administrative duties are completed as required to ensure proper reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Directs maintenance technician staff in safe dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads troubleshooting efforts for industrial machinery and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist, as necessary, with the troubleshooting process, machinery, and repair of equipment to minimize downtime. Works to maintain uptime and efficiency throughout the entire operation to include an ammonia system and packaging operation.</p> </li><li> <p>Reads and interprets specifications, blueprints, and work orders, assigns duties appropriately and/or selects outside contract support as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors the use and inventories of facilities for spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Confers with other managers and contractors to coordinate activities across individual departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, lifts.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Works in compliance and promotes a work environment which complies with GFGSI standards for a food processing facility. Follows and complies with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) product safety standards and Thrive Freeze Dry product defense standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs accident / incident investigations to the point of offering resolve. Maintains a safe work environment and follows OSHA guidelines and other government agency requirements, wherever applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Safety Requirements Include:</p> <ul> <li>Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements. </li><li>Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. </li><li>Attend scheduled EHS&S training programs. </li><li>Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans. </li><li>Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE). </li><li>Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained. </li></ul> <p>Product Safety and Quality:</p> <ul> <li>Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry's food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures. </li><li>Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures GMP's regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee. </li><li>Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, specific skills, licenses, and/or certifications required.) The list below represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of three years of experience serving in progressive technical roles in a manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a leadership capacity. Food manufacturing is a plus. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations or relevant technical field i.e. automation, robotics, etc. </li><li>Experience with ammonia is preferred. </li><li>Experience with automated packaging equipment is preferred. </li><li>A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others by establishing and carrying out metrics and Key Performance Indicators. </li><li>An ability to think ahead, plan and prepare action plans to achieve results. </li><li>An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail. </li><li>Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. </li><li>Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude. </li><li>The possession of quality orientation and attention to detail, problem analysis, and resolution. </li><li>Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. </li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. </li><li>The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment. </li><li>Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required. </li></ul> <p>The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
