<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Wellspring has an opening for a full-time, 40 hour per week Special Education Teacher to serve a dual role on our adolescent campus. This role would encompass part time as a Vocational Coordinator for the Arch Bridge School as well as proctor and provide academic support for our new Adolescent Intensive Program.</p> <p>The Arch Bridge School (ABS) offers core academics and college preparatory courses, allowing students to meet their unique academic objectives while in Residential Treatment or in our Therapeutic Day School. Our Adolescent Intensive Program (AIP) will provide more focused clinical work while students are able to continue their education through an online learning platform.</p> <p>Position Details:</p> <p>Position Title: Special Education Teacher</p> <p>Employment Agreement Type: Full-time (40 hours)</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Generous paid time off benefit </li><li>Retirement Savings with Employer Matching </li><li>Health Insurance </li><li>Dental Insurance </li></ul> <p>ABS Vocational Coordinator Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Network with on campus partners, community organizations, and businesses to provide vocational experiences for students. </li><li>Work with students and families to identify areas of growth and interests to support them in a placement (regular updates, scheduled meetings, site visits, etc.). </li><li>Work with the educational team to identify eligible students, develop schedules, monitor progress, and provide team support to selected students. </li><li>Be willing to develop the materials and initial assessments for students. </li><li>Transport students to and from their experiences as needed. </li></ul> <p>AIP Mentor Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Support students in a classroom for 2 hours per day Monday - Thursday, after typical school hours, with both academic questions and help with time management. </li><li>Provide support with other possible executive function needs. </li><li>Document student progress daily and report out to families and team members on a regular basis. </li><li>Train and support the online academic program. </li><li>Meet regularly with the Director of Education to review student cases. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut Certification, Comprehensive Special Education (165) </li><li>Experience with emotional disabilities and learning differences and a therapeutic school environment (preferred). </li><li>Eligibility for the DMV's A Endorsement to drive students to and from activities. </li><li>A strong commitment to teaching. </li><li>The ability to work hard individually and as part of a team. </li><li>An interest in developing new skills, or enhancing existing ones, while working with students with challenging educational and behavioral/emotional scenarios. </li></ul> <p>Please visit our website (www.wellspring.org) to read more about our programs, and our application process.
