<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Availability:</p> <p>One position is available and will be open until filled.</p> <p>Position Title: New School Concerts Usher, Student Assistant Requisition Number: 0406073700 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Mannes/Mannes Concert Office Responsibilities:</p> <p>INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH</p> <p>The New School Concerts Department at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as New School Concerts Usher, Student Assistant. We're looking for responsible, patient, music-loving individuals to provide both a welcoming and efficient presence at our chamber music concerts. The New School recognizes and values the benefits of a diverse workforce.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Check concert ticket buyers in at event using Splashthat app; </li><li>Interact conversationally with event patrons - providing patrons with directions to available seats, exits, box office, restrooms, and other information </li><li>Answer onsite questions as needed </li><li>Ensure entrances and exits are not blocked, security guard has good visibility, and there is no crowding in lobby area or aisles </li><li>Direct those with disabilities in finding appropriate, available seats </li></ul> <p>WORK MODE</p> <ul> <li>On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. </li></ul> <p>SALARY RANGE</p> <p>Hourly Rate: $16.50</p> <p>Hours per Week: Est. 3 hours per week, as needed on the following six Sundays: October 5, 2025; November 9, 2025; December 7, 2025; Jan 11, 2026; March 22, 2026; April 26, 2026 and 1-2 training days around students' schedules.</p> <p>SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS</p> <p>Applicants should submit both a resume and cover letter outlining their interest, skills, and experience concerning this position; and a Federal Work Study award letter if applicable.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal communication and customer services skills </li><li>Comfortability interacting with members of the public </li><li>Timeliness </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Love of chamber music a plus </li><li>Recipient of a Federal Work Study Award </li><li>Previous public-facing work experience </li></ul> <p>Job Family: Special Events Posting Date: 08/20/2025 Closing Date: Open Until Filled Yes</p>
