We encourage you to visit our website at www.loenbro.com to learn more about our organization and who we are.</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Site EHS Manager plays an essential role in establishing and promoting a culture of safety within the Industrial Services specific sites they are assigned, focusing on compliance with both internal safety policies and external regulatory requirements. This position involves overseeing safety protocols at 1 or more locations, ensuring that each site adheres to the highest standards of workplace safety and health. By conducting regular audits, providing training, and implementing safety programs, the Safety Manager works to minimize risks, reduce workplace accidents, and maintain a safe, healthy environment for all employees. Through collaboration with various departments and site leadership teams, this role supports the organization's commitment to safety, demonstrating the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding the well-being of its workforce.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>Training and Education</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and oversee safety training programs for all employees at the site(s), including but not limited to emergency response, hazardous material handling, and equipment safety. </li><li>Ensure employees arriving at the site(s) have the required industry specific training, i.e., OSHA or MSHA training. </li><li>Assist in creating and performing new hire orientations, hazard awareness training, and other training as required. </li><li>Manage, coordinate, participate in and/or conduct daily safety meetings, provide educational materials, and organize drills to enhance employee awareness of safety procedures and regulations on job sites and office facilities. </li><li>Applies leadership skills in an engaging fashion to continually develop and improve every team member's hazard recognition skill and hazard mitigation protocols and knowledge base. </li><li>Complete proper documentation and storage (KPA) for all training and education completed. </li><li>Manage, educate, and continuously improve the abilities and awareness of the field safety representatives onsite, ensure daily documentation requirements are met by the safety team. </li></ul> <p>Enforcing Safety Policies and Procedures</p> <ul> <li>Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. </li><li>Applies all policies in a consistent fashion to facilitate a safety culture whereby hazard recognition and hazard elimination/mitigation is always the first task in every activity. </li><li>Implement and enforce safety protocols, including company policies, the Site Safety Plan (SSP), client guidelines, and relevant federal regulations (OSHA, MSHA). </li><li>Regulatory Compliance - Perform continual monitoring of job site and work habits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory health and safety regulations. Inspections consist of, but are not limited to: Lockout-Tagout, Required Permits and other job forms, Work Habits, Facility Inspections, and Construction Site Inspections. </li></ul> <p>Incident Investigations/Record Keeping and Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Lead and/or participate in the investigation of incidents within the area, ensuring thorough documentation, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. </li><li>Ensure injured employees are provided appropriate care in a timely manner including but not limited to utilization of CORE Occupational Medicine. </li><li>Providing adequate and proper documentation and implementation of corrective actions. </li><li>Ensuring operational management is provided with safety analytics related to incident reports, hazards, corrective actions, etc. </li><li>Utilize KPA reporting including but not limited to Safety Alerts, Incident Investigation reports, Root Cause Analysis, etc. </li><li>Work with operations and safety management team to determine actionable items related to incidents and enforce completion. </li></ul> <p>Coordination with Operations</p> <ul> <li>Communication - Establish a firm communication system between site operations and H&S by being available and responsive to requests from field employees and managers. </li><li>Works closely with the site operations team to facilitate and maintain a culture where safety "is who we are." Enable and facilitate a setting where the entire organization is engaged to achieve behavior based safe work excellence. </li><li>Acts to ensure safety team is a constructive partner with the operations team and is a resource to operations. Earns the operations team respect as a strong leader and advocate of the management team. </li><li>Interfaces with customer's safety team on a frequent basis. Closely align company systems with customer requirements. </li></ul> <p>Performing Site Inspections, Audits, and Monitoring</p> <ul> <li>Conduct and document daily inspections and audits to identify safety violations, potential hazards, or non-compliance with safety regulations. </li><li>Promptly address issues, provide solutions, and implement corrective actions. </li><li>Perform daily safety reports to provide important day-to-day data for safety and project management. </li></ul> <p>Maintaining Safety Records and Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Meticulously keep accurate records and ensure timely input of records into appropriate locations such as KPA. </li><li>Assist Safety Management (Area, Regional, Corporate, etc.) with data gathering, analytics, and creation of daily, weekly, monthly safety meeting topics and documentation. </li></ul> <p>Consulting with Regulatory Agencies</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. </li><li>Engage with regulatory agencies, participate in inspections, and facilitate audits to uphold safety standards. </li><li>Ensure proper documentation and notification of all citations and assist in implementation of corrective actions and preventative measures. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement of Safety Practices</p> <ul> <li>Stay informed about industry's best practices and emerging safety technologies. </li><li>Collaborate with Area/Regional Safety Management to identify opportunities for enhancing safety measures and implementing new strategies for improved safety performance. </li><li>Provide feedback from the field to aid in process improvement and implementation progress. </li><li>Analyze site safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement, provide information and help develop strategic safety plans. </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Area or Regional Safety Manager </li></ul> <p>Skills/Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>CHST or equivalent combination of work experience and education in a relevant field required, with a focus on safety management or related discipline. </li><li>Extensive working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes/regulations, with a proven history of ensuring compliance. </li><li>Ability to lead and manage a small team of safety personnel effectively, demonstrating strong leadership skills and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Prior experience working within the heavy industrial construction industry, including manufacturing, pipeline, mining, food and beverage, power, and refining environments. </li><li>Proven ability to assess potential hazards and risks within site operations and develop and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively. </li><li>Experience in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences. </li><li>Knowledge of emergency response plans and procedures, coordinating drills and exercises, and ensuring readiness for potential emergencies. </li><li>Ability to build relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies and contractors. </li><li>MSHA Certification or background preferred. </li><li>Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) to ensure comprehensive safety practices. </li><li>Experience in conducting safety audits or inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards. </li><li>Certification in First Aid/CPR, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to safety incidents requiring immediate medical attention. </li><li>Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes. </li><li>Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding safety, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. </li><li>Ability to use safety management software for reporting and documentation requirements. </li><li>Competency of all items required Safety Technicians. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to Climb up and down stairs and ladders. </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. </li><li>Ability to traverse difficult terrain such as getting in and out of trenches/excavations and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights) </li><li>Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds. </li><li>Driving to travel (valid driver license and proof of insurability is required.
