For more than six decades, we've delivered premium fresh flowers and floral supplies to retail florists, event designers, and supermarkets across the country. About the Role The Business Development Manager supports the retail sales division by identifying and driving new business opportunities in targeted regional geographies, while collaborating with internal teams to onboard, retain, and grow customer accounts. This role works closely with Regional Sales Directors, the Customer Success Team, and internal departments to ensure strategic pipeline management, customer support, and successful program adoption. What You'll Do Identify and drive net new business opportunities using a variety of tools and resources, including website leads, prior customer reactivation lists, NAICS code lists, internet search tools (Google, Yelp), field reconnaissance, word-of-mouth referrals, and regional pipeline building. Collaborate with Regional Sales Directors to organize regional lead pipelines, set goals and objectives, and track customer activity and progress. Work with the Customer Success Team to manage incoming leads, ensure swift response, and support first-sale opportunities. Qualify leads using ABC analysis and segment customers to appropriately categorize potential. Take the lead on presentations to prospective customers and oversee the processing, onboarding, and setting up of new accounts. Actively visit new and existing customers in assigned markets. Introduce and demonstrate DV sales tools and programs including DVFLORA.COM, Grower Direct, Dutch Direct, Japan Direct, Cream of Crop, and Drop Ship opportunities. Coordinate the new customer information package, monitor feedback, and help conduct follow-up performance reviews. Manage customer sample programs and assist in customer troubleshooting related to Distribution, Product, A/R, and other operational areas. Represent the company at trade shows and local industry events, including support with booth design, set up, and breakdown. Support the adoption and training of CRM tools (currently Smartsheet transitioning to Salesforce) for sales and activity tracking. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Work Environment/TravelThis position is comprised of approximately 75-85% field work and 15-25% office work and may require overnight travel when needed. In the field, a personal vehicle serves as the mobile office for travel to and from client meetings. Frequent travel to customers and DV locations is required. Overnight stays may be necessary depending on geography and events.</p> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years of sales or sales management experience, preferably in the floral industry or business-to-business distribution. </li><li>Strong knowledge of floral products and industry operations. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. </li><li>Strong Microsoft Office 365 proficiency. </li><li>Familiarity with Smartsheet, Tableau, and Salesforce (or other CRM/BI tools) preferred. </li><li>Ability to travel and work independently in the field. </li><li>Must reside in Massachusetts or Connecticut </li></ul>
