<p>The Area Technician II will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and repairing workstations for end users while utilizing in-depth knowledge of network topologies and protocols. Responsibilities will extend to the maintenance and oversight of a substantial inventory of over 200 + computers and associated equipment with end user technology, which includes workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, etc. A Technician III will utilize in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Mac OSX, and Windows OS's to install, maintain, and troubleshoot devices. They will also work with active directory and authentication.</p> <ul> <li>Hardware Diagnosis and Repair: Responsible for diagnosing and repairing workstation issues for end users, ensuring seamless operations. This includes troubleshooting hardware-related problems with precision and expertise. </li><li>Hardware Maintenance: Performs routine hardware maintenance, guaranteeing the reliability and longevity of the organization's IT assets. </li><li>Expert Technical Support: Provides expert-level technical support for over academic and administrative end users, maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Offers guidance and solutions for both hardware and software issues. </li><li>Problem Analysis and Resolution: Analyze and troubleshoot issues with a primary focus on timely resolution and minimizing disruptions. </li><li>Technology Research and Evaluation: Contributes to the research and evaluation of computer hardware and software applications. Asses new technologies and software solutions to improve user experience, making recommendations for implementation. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree in a related field and 2+ years' experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling 4+ years.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office, internet browsers, email systems, anti-virus Software, and other general applications. </li><li>Knowledge of iOS, Android, Windows, and any other operating systems on tablets and smart phones. </li><li>Knowledge of work station imaging software; (i.e. MECM, SmartDeploy, etc.) </li><li>Knowledge of TCP/IP and application network protocols, firewall management, operating system configuration. </li><li>Knowledge of Mac OSX, and Windows OS. Knowledge of directory-based authentication (i.e. Active Directory). Knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software problems and researching technical issues on MAC OSX and/or Windows OS or Outlook. </li><li>Knowledge of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting peripheral devices such as printers (local and network), scanners. </li><li>Knowledge of procedures and software for backing up and restoring data. </li><li>Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues in computers and printers. </li><li>Skill in applying security patches, ensuring system stability, and protecting against vulnerabilities. </li><li>Research and evaluation skills to assess the suitability and potential benefits of new technologies. </li><li>Skills in working continuously on a task until completion. </li><li>Skills in talking with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues. Must possess excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Strong skills in analytical and troubleshooting. </li><li>Skills in rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals. </li><li>Ability to test and evaluate recent technology. </li><li>Ability to follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system, replacing parts as required. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults. </li><li>Ability to communicate with and build relationships with customers to resolved their technical concerns and problems. </li></ul>
