<p>At VITAS Healthcare, we are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality hospice care that honors the dignity of every patient and family we serve. We are seeking a operationally astute Senior Vice President of Hospice Operations to lead our central and south Florida hospice locations with strategic clarity, regulatory and operational excellence, and a deep commitment to service.</p> <p>Operational Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Direct daily operations across 12+ hospice programs/branches in central and south Florida, ensuring alignment with VITAS' mission and CMS regulations. </li><li>Guide and oversee field executives (VP Operations, Regional Sales and Admissions leaders, and General Managers) in implementing hospice policies and delivering high-quality care. </li><li>Monitor key performance indicators and lead internal teams focused on continuous improvement. </li><li>Prepare and manage budgets and strategic plans based on corporate growth objectives. </li><li>Implement short- and long-term strategies to support hospice growth, operational excellence, and financial performance. </li><li>Monitor internal and external environments to identify strategic opportunities </li><li>Serve as a strategic liaison between business units and internal/ external stakeholders </li><li>Evaluate operational results regularly and report findings appropriately. </li><li>Ensure responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct reports (Regional Vice President Operations, Regional Head of Sales, and Regional Admissions ) are clearly defined. </li></ul> <p>Executive Leadership and People Development</p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor senior leaders across operational domains, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and organizational values. </li><li>Champion growth through structured coaching, succession planning, and leadership pipeline development. </li><li>Implement initiatives that foster engagement, reduce turnover, and build a culture of trust and high performance. </li><li>Create environments that promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning at all levels. </li></ul> <p>Policy and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Develop, document, and implement administrative policies and procedures consistent with statutes, regulations, and Governing Body decisions. </li><li>Ensure hospice activities comply with local, state, and federal laws. </li><li>Oversee the implementation of corporate policies and programs approved by Executive Management. </li><li>Ensure policies reflect hospice standards in staffing, scheduling, logistics, and financial performance. </li><li>Promote ongoing improvement in administrative service delivery and company management. </li></ul> <p>Communication and Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Develop and install procedures and controls to promote effective communication and information flow across the organization. </li><li>Foster transparency, collaboration, and timely decision-making through structured communication systems. </li></ul> <p>Governance and External Relations</p> <ul> <li>Act as liaison with boards, agencies, and associations as needed. </li><li>Develop models that align with the hospice's mission and values, informed by both internal and external assessments. </li><li>Represent hospice leadership in strategic forums and external partnerships. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare Operations Leadership: Minimum of 10 years in a senior operations role within a healthcare setting (Home Health or Skilled Nursing). Post-acute care experience is preferred </li><li>Multi-Site & Multi-State Oversight: Proven experience managing complex, geographically dispersed operations. </li><li>Leadership & Communication: Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate across levels, and influence outcomes. </li><li>Business Modeling & Resource Management: Skilled in designing operational models and optimizing resource allocation. </li><li>Demonstrated success in driving profitability, performance improvement and process optimization across large- scale healthcare operations. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other relevant software programs </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred. </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES</p> <ul> <li>EOE/AA M/F/D/V </li></ul>
