<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The State University of New York at Fredonia invites applications for one full-time Graduate Assistant positions represented by GSEU in the College of Education.</p> <p>The College of Education-Professional Education Unite (COE-PEU) is currently comprised of 30 programs,15 at the undergraduate level and 15 at the graduate level, ranging from initial teacher preparation programs to advanced programs and educational leadership programs.</p> <p>Fredonia has a long tradition of excellence in educator preparation.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Full time GAs work 20 hours per week and report to designated supervisor (e.g., dean, department chair) the Graduate Assistant will:</p> <p>Assist the Office of Student Services and Office of Field Experiences (EDU 106, EDU 221, EDU/MAED/SCED 313 and EDU 356) would include:</p> <ul> <li>School visits </li><li>Conducting office hours to support candidates </li><li>Meet with faculty to follow-up on student progress </li><li>Correspondence with cooperating teachers and teacher candidates </li><li>Attend regular staff meetings with the Assistant Director of OFE </li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation </li><li>Assist faculty with their research projects </li><li>Assist COE leadership with special projects and regular daily operations of the departments and college as needed </li><li>Learn multiple aspects of teacher leadership including but not limited to mentoring and peer advising, preparation of program marketing materials, planning a meeting, interaction with parents (and other stakeholders) especially during recruitment, tours and orientation </li><li>Assist in development and maintenance of the social media for the departments and offices </li><li>May participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession </li><li>Occasional meetings/recruitment events that are evenings or weekends </li><li>Assist the Office of Student Services </li><li>Know, understand, and follow all university policies </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Enrollment in a current Graduate program in College of Education with good standing; </li><li>Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department mission; </li><li>Experience with instructional technology; </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in using Google applications; </li><li>Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; </li><li>Previous leadership experience; </li><li>Evidence of community service; </li><li>Previous global/international experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>One full-time, temp appointed, GSEU represented positions beginning fall 2024.</p> <p>Visa sponsorship is not available for these positions.</p> <p>Fredonia prides itself on an outstanding workforce.
