We are actively searching for a Career and Technology Education (CTE) Teacher with a Manufacturing background to join our dynamic team of educators for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. An ideal candidate is someone with an ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds and interests. The school features a collaborative learning model, block scheduling, hands-on and outdoor learning along with multiple connections to Goodwin University. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with students from urban and suburban settings and possess an understanding of and appreciation for multicultural education. The selected teacher will experience a new facility set on the Connecticut River and will become a member of a dynamic team of educators. Goodwin University Magnet Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>The Career and Technology Education Teacher shall:</p> <ul> <li>Provide formal instruction and leadership in computer science & information technology as assigned utilizing appropriate curriculum, equipment, and materials. </li><li>Work with CTE Director and Coordinator to determine appropriate curriculum, equipment, and materials utilizing either third party resources [e.g. consortium-based curriculum providers, commercial vendors, etc.] or by developing original coursework if necessary and as required. </li><li>Specify, select, install, operate, and maintain necessary equipment and/or training modules required to support the specific course(s) being taught within departmental budget restraints. </li><li>Prepare course syllabi addressing targeted student abilities, specific competencies, textbook requirements, grading/assessment methodology, course scheduling, and/or other items as required. </li><li>Support industry-based advisory panels in support of college-level computer science and information technology programs. </li><li>Participate in marketing and recruiting activities and provide supporting materials as required for the development of advertising promotions such as brochures, media spots, web pages, posters, etc. </li><li>Initiate and maintain contact with area businesses and/or manufacturers for the purpose of promoting division programs through donations, employee referral, job shadowing/internship programs, advisory panel participation, and hiring of program graduates. </li><li>Assist in student job placement and follow-up. </li><li>Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or designee. </li></ul> <p>DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred, and certification in appropriate area of instruction. </li><li>Work experience in meeting the needs of racially, ethnically, socioeconomically and linguistically diverse groups of youth is desirable. </li><li>Preference will be given to candidates with industry experience in computer science and/or information technology: Help Desk, Tech Support, Cybersecurity, Database Management, AI </li><li>CSDE Certification in Technology Education: 047 or Trade and Industrial Occupations: 098 </li></ul> <p>If you have any questions, please reach out to jacosta@goodwinmagnetsystem.org</p>
