This position would typically work less than 20 hours per week at a rate of $30 per hour.</p> <p>To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>The Dental Assisting instructor is responsible for teaching all phases of the State of Tennessee Dental Assisting registry curriculum including classroom, clinical and laboratory. - (Essential) </li><li>Other duties include curriculum updates, professional development, maintain student records, student recruiting, student retention, job placement and functioning as a liaison with area employers. - (Essential) </li><li>The successful applicant must demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping students succeed in the classroom and in the workplace. - (Essential) </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Post-secondary training from an accredited institution in the field </li><li>Must have a minimum of three (3) years current experience in the dental assisting field </li><li>Must hold current TN RDA, DDS/DMD, or RDH licensure in good standing </li><li>Current two (2) year Healthcare Provider BLS CPR w/AED training certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior Teaching experience </li><li>TN RDA certifications in the following expanded functions: Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, Dental Radiology, Sealant Application, and Coronal Polishing </li><li>Be familiar with program compliance under TN Board of Dentistry </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Possess organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor </li><li>Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and decision-making </li><li>Strong customer service skills </li><li>Computer skills including general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel </li></ul> <p>APPLICATION SUBMISSION & REVIEW: To be considered for a position at TCAT Knoxville, you must create an online application and upload your required documents.
