<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Job Description Hardware Prototype Design Engineer</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Lead the mechanical design for Wearable device components features and systems while maintaining endtoend product development understanding</p> <p>Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of highly crossfunctional teams including Industrial Design Manufacturing and Science teams</p> <p>Model build test and refine prototypes and characterization test systems for wearable devices</p> <p>Work across the full product development cycle</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Description Hardware Prototype Design Engineer</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Lead the mechanical design for Wearable device components features and systems while maintaining endtoend product development understanding</p> <p>Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of highly crossfunctional teams including Industrial Design Manufacturing and Science teams</p> <p>Model build test and refine prototypes and characterization test systems for wearable devices</p> <p>Work across the full product development cycle from concept inception to shipping product</p> <p>Design and develop manufacturing tools fixtures and assembly jigs for EMG device production</p> <p>Provide Design for Manufacturability DFM and Design for Assembly DFA guidance across multiple device generations</p> <p>Execute precise assembly and rework on EMG electronic devices including handson mechanical assembly electrical assembly and soldering of components</p> <p>Develop and implement testing methodologies specific to wearable devices including signal quality assessment and contact integrity validation</p> <p>Collaborate with manufacturing partners on secondary process development for complex metal enclosures and components</p> <p>Support rapid prototyping initiatives using advanced additive manufacturing and conventional fabrication techniques</p> <p>Create detailed technical documentation to ensure accurate implementation and support of assembly and rework processes</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience</p> <p>5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design with focus on consumer electronics or wearable devices</p> <p>Experience with NX CAD software including synchronous modeling surfacing assembly and drafting capabilities</p> <p>Experience in Design for Manufacturability DFM Design for Assembly DFA statistical tolerance analysis techniques functional dimensioning GD&T and 3D2D CAD</p> <p>Working knowledge in material properties such as plastics metals adhesives elastomers and specialized polymers used in wearable applications</p> <p>Testing and analysis experience including characterization systems electrochemical testing FEA simulation and Design of Experiments</p> <p>Knowledge of highvolume manufacturing techniques including machining finishing fixture design 3D printing and injection molding</p> <p>Handson experience with mechanical assembly electrical assembly and soldering of electronic components including rework and troubleshooting</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>8+ years of product design and development experience of handheld andor wearable highvolume consumer electronics with experience in EMG sensing devices or similar biomedical hardware</p> <p>Advanced experience with NX CAD including sheet metal design flexible printed circuit board modeling and complex assembly management within Teamcenter environments</p> <p>Experience with highly cosmetic products and working with Industrial Design teams on formfactor constrained wearable devices</p> <p>Experience designing and shipping products with Asiabased supply chains including supplier collaboration and manufacturing transfer documentation</p> <p>Experience designing for human factors and ergonomics in wearable applications with understanding of skincontact electrode systems and signal quality optimization</p> <p>The Cognizant community:</p> <p>We are a high caliber team who appreciate and support one another.
