<p>Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Architect for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ. You will lead application development and modernization efforts for legacy mainframe technologies, including COBOL, CICS, and JCL, while supporting migration to cloud platforms.</p> <p>Rate Range: $45/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Mainframe Architect job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and develop applications using legacy mainframe technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and MQ.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead code migration and data transformation efforts as part of rehosting and modernization initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with architects and cloud teams to support migration and integration with GCP-based platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage batch job execution, console monitoring, and production control for critical systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical guidance and inputs to migration teams, ensuring smooth transition from AIX to Linux environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot complex mainframe issues and recommend upgrades, patches, and performance improvements.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 10+ years of experience in mainframe application development and architecture.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong expertise in legacy technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, and MQ, with experience in code migration and data transformation.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to collaborate on cloud modernization projects (GCP preferred) and support disaster recovery strategies.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
