<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Irving A. Robbins Middle School is seeking a Social Studies Teacher Full time (1.0) starting August 2025</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>Teachers provide effective instruction to ensure that students learn core content knowledge and skills as well as the competencies and dispositions articulated in the FPS Vision of the Global Citizen. Teachers attend to the development of the whole child and adjust instruction to meet psychological, social and intellectual needs. Working as a vital member of a learning organization, teachers develop relationships with colleagues, parents, and students and work collaboratively to ensure that all children achieve academic and personal growth. Teachers demonstrate all aspects of CT's Code of Professional Responsibility.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must hold or be eligible for CT State Teaching Certification in English (026) </li><li>Consideration will be given to the following - </li><li>Relevant and recent experience </li><li>References that indicate excellent instructional skill, initiative, and a learner mindset </li><li>Philosophy that aligns with the district's core beliefs </li><li>Various life experiences that enhance contributions to the overall district and/or school community </li></ul> <p>Salary: $55,018 - $111,829 depending upon education and experience; part time positions are pro-rated</p> <p>Teacher salaries are set by contract, established through negotiations between the Board of Education and the Farmington Educator Association</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>Teachers oversee and direct the work of paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers working in their classrooms</p> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Complete online application at www.fpsct.org and submit detailed cover letter, resume, 3 letters of reference, copies of all college transcripts and State of CT Teacher certification.</p> <p>Selection Procedure: Selected candidates will be contacted by phone or email for interviews with a district administrator.</p> <p>The Board of Education will not make employment decisions (including decisions related to hiring, assignment, compensation, promotion, demotion, disciplinary action and termination) on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, alienage, ancestry, disability (including pregnancy), genetic information, veteran status or gender identity or expression, except in the case of a bona fide occupational qualification.
