<p>Starkey is hiring a Custom Repair Technician I on 1st shift, Monday - Friday at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. Do you have hearing aid repair experience or experience with micro electronic soldering and repair? The Custom Repair Technician I is responsible for analyzing and repairing hearing aid products to meet dealer/customer specifications. Specific products to be repaired include but are not exclusive to these models: In the Ear (ITE or CE), In the Canal (ITC or CC) and Completely in the Canal (CIC or TY). This position will also help drive process and product improvements. We are headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, have over 5,000 employees in 29 facilities across the globe, and do business in more than 100 markets worldwide.</p> <p>Watch this video to see more of what sets Starkey apart.</p> <p>https://youtu.be/9cUYwTlCepg?si=wkovx8_R_iINfrc6</p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using electronic equipment (multi-meter, drain meter, RTA)</p> <p>o Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using Inspire Software</p> <p>o Record component failures, Code complaint and actions, Order replacement parts</p> <p>o Record failures using the Pareto System and CQ Repair Analysis System</p> <p>Wire: Wire aid from start to finish using correct components according to CQ</p> <p>o Replace components (i.e. switches, wireless antennas, circuits, etc.) to plates according to Design and CQ</p> <p>o Listen test aid to ensure aid and options are working properly</p> <p>o Check drain and verify drain is within specs with CQ, if capable</p> <p>o Verify correct components and wire correctly if aid is not working properly</p> <p>Case: Verify sound and cosmetic quality of hearing aids</p> <p>o Listen to the hearing aids for sound quality and adjust components to alleviate oscillation or feedback</p> <p>o Check for any cosmetic defects, repair as necessary</p> <p>Cut, Trim, Bevel and Buff hearing aid</p> <p>o Cut off excess plastic, bevel, and buff aid to desired look</p> <p>Final: Ensure hearing aid final appearance is up to standard and ensure all options are added according to design specifications</p> <p>o Verify the functionality and quality of the hearing aid</p> <p>o Add all Final options</p> <p>Ensure hearing aid is completed in a timely manner</p> <p>o Use lean manufacturing principals while performing duties</p> <p>Other duties/responsibilities as assigned</p> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Minimum Education and Experience Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <p>o High school diploma or equivalent required</p> <p>o Technicians will be required to be Starkey certified in analysis, wiring, case, cut/buff and final</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>o Previous hearing aid experience helpful and soldering skills desired</p> <p>Knowledge / Technical Requirements</p> <p>Ability to read and comprehend various paperwork such as Standard Operating Procedures, repair forms and repair codes</p> <p>Competencies, Skills & Abilities)</p> <p>Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards required.</p> <p>Ability to work well in teams and as a team member required.</p> <p>Ability to follow instructions/directions required.</p> <p>Ability to read and comprehend diagrams required.</p> <p>Good communication skills - verbal and written and reading comprehension required.</p> <p>Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.</p> <p>Ability to work with small parts required.</p> <p>Ability to see close required.</p> <p>Ability to differentiate colors required.</p> <p>Troubleshoot problems.</p> <p>Good hearing to perform listening tests required.</p> <p>Basic computer skills desired.</p> <p>WORK CONTEXT</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Jobholder will sit approximately 95% of work day, occasional standing and safety glasses must be worn when required.</p> <p>Jobholder is frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals.</p> <p>Regular attendance and responsiveness to reasonable job-related directives as given by the supervisor.</p> <p>Equipment Operation</p> <p>Microscope, soldering iron, tweezers, screwdriver, computer</p> <p>Salary and Other Compensation:</p> <p>The target rate for this position is between $17.03 to $23.17/hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>The following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan with company match, company-paid life insurance, short-term disability insurance, long term disability insurance, employee assistance program, hearing aid benefits, paid time off, paid sick time, and paid holidays.</p> <p>This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results.
